Sandcastle Suites - breaking the rules?

hi.

I'm planning on taking my 19 year-old girlfriend to CP (I'm 24), and staying at Sandcastle Suites. Their website says they won't allow her to stay without a parent or legal guardian (which isn't happening...)

Are they going to ask to see her ID, or if I don't say anything, will we be cool?

Lol, that reminds me of my honeymoon. I'm only 20 and got married in June and had to pay unreal amounts for the rental car. I think most reservations had to be under my wife's name too... she's 21.

I'm gonna take a guess and say that if you don't mention it, you're cool. Having checked into a few hotels, there shouldn't be a problem.

When I went in June I got a room for my friends at the Breakers they were only 20 at the time. My Girlfriend reserved our room in her name ,and I put thier room in my name. I checked in got the stuff and handed it right over to them in the lobby never even really went to that room myself. I have never been asked to show my ID and just told them that everybody that was staying in the room was over 21. One thing you could say if they ask to see ID's for the whole party is that they are not getting there till later and you would like to go ahead and secure the room.

Why in the world would a 19 year old need a parent or guardian?

I agree....I would just play it cool and walk on by the desk

The rule is in place to prevent minors under 21 from coming and having parties at their hotels and what not. The rule stands, and if they question your age, they will ID the person checking in. I've even heard of them IDing everyone in the group.

Ok, I feel a bit better about it now. I had planned on having her wait in the car, while I pre-checked in (got tickets, etc), and the same when we check in later in the day...

You should be able to get you room by 2 or 3 everytime I have stayed on point my room has been ready early. It may not hurt too have her stay in the car just incase, I think it just all depends on who is checking you in. After you get your room you have nothing to worry about unless you are throwing a big party.

Just don't screw around and you'll be fine. The rule is mostly to prevent college age kids who are all under 21 from staying at their hotels alone. It's their assumption that anyone over that age can be financially responsible for any damage they cause, should they cause any.

Hi Everyone,

I've never had a problem. I've always had my little sister with me (she just turned 21 two weeks ago). I've never been IDed. In fact, last time was a week before her birthday and she was standing with me at the front desk (as she usually does unless she's dealing with the luggage) and they never said anything. Hope that helps

When I went to the breakers they needed to copy my girlfriend, and my selves ID and told us that they would let security know that two underage people were staying on the site (im 22 and shes 19) how is that really underage? O well , just to let you know

I would just have her stay in the car and check in, get the key, and use another entrance besides the lobby.

Just don't cause any trouble and nobody will care.
