Hi guys and gals,
I was tinkering with some images and came up with with this version of the maXair logo. I figure someone here is probably obsessed with maXair and will like this, lol.

I always love feedback (positive AND negative) on my work, so please feel free to comment :)
The top image is a maXair logo. (http://ninjamuk.googlepages.com/maxair.png)
And yep, I used Storm Runner for that one (thanks, btw).
The MS/P2007 mock-up is of some other red intamin (I don't recall which).
That is pretty awesome man. I love maXair (see my signature), and must say, it does the ride justice.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Well, I'm glad I posted then :)
Thanks for the kind words.

Well, I actually didn't use any masks (except a transparency mask in the background) in the maxair images, but I'm going to assume you're talking about the image with Storm Runner.
The trees in that photo are from BOTH original photos. If you look closely, you can see different shades of green. I did have to cut/erase/paint/tint some trees to help your eyes believe the scene, but it was really a pretty easy chop. Here's how I did it.
First, I found two donor images that would seem compatible - a picture of MF from the Swan Boat area and a picture of Storm Runner. IT is important that both of these images be from a similar angle - in this case, from the ground looking parallel to the landscape.
Second, I used the Magic Wand, Eraser and lasso to remove the sky from the StormRunner (IMG2) image and placed MF (IMG1) underneath it.
Thirdly, I needed to make sure that MF would fit in the space alotted. It didn't, lol. So I scaled IMG1 down a little bit and cut out more trees to get the right 'window' to view IMG1 in.
Lastly, your eyes will tell you too quickly that the image is fake if your brain processes too many inconsistencies (i.e. - strange variations in colors of trees). To combat this, I lassoed certain areas of trees and changed their hue properties, I also airbrushed some green into some of the more pale trees to give some uniformity to them.
I like to do my work in Fireworks 8 (like this image) whenever possible. Hope that helps.
