Obsessions...

I was just wondering how all of you guys got obsessed with CP, and how long did it take for people to notice?

took me about 5 minutes to become obsessed,, but it took fully three years before anyone really noticed (guess i've been really good at hiding it).

I knew I was obsessed when when I called the Power Center in Ann Arbor the Power Tower

When my friends started asking me questions about Cedar Point and I had the answer to every one even the oddest of them.

I got obsessed with CP in 1991 when i was 12 years old. It was about my 3rd or 4th trip, and I had always been terrified of the big coasters. (I had been on gemini, mine ride, iron dragon, and jr. gemini)

Well, everyone that i went with was older, so they made me go on everything: blue streak, corkscrew, DT, Mean Streak, Magnum, etc. I was scared to death on Magnum. I had my head between my legs the entire way up the first hill.

But I loved all of it. I was so glad that they forced me to go on the bigger coasters. Now I'm the one forcing everyone on the coasters!

I would have to say the obsession developed last year when I came to this site a lot and looked at facts, downloaded the desktop pics, and when I saw the news release for MF. It's just grown since then, now I know my way around CP REALLY well. I discovered CP Place and am on it every day now.

I would have to say not many people know I am obsessed except for my parents (they see me on this site) and whoever they tell when somebody brings up CP in a conversation.

Peoples are obsessed with telling me I'm obsessed with CP.

i got the obsession after riding Magnum at night and also because im always surfin the web checkin out all the CP pages i can find

I've probably been semi-obsessed since the first time I went, but it wasn't till 1999, with the annoucement of MF. I actually started paying attention to all CP commercials and then I started posting here.

When I got obsessed was like most after I heard about MF but I liked CP from the first time I was ever there and that was probaly about in 93'.Since then I have loved it.

I agree MagnumFAN. All the time during the school year I had people telling me I was obsessed. I'm sitting here like...well....ummm....SO! I have made plenty of rumors at school about CP die, by explaining to them that the rumors were so off the wall (floorless that goes into lake erie) and stupid (magnum sinking).

I become hooked about 2 years ago after visiting RRC and saw an ad for the site. I had just fully apreciated CP that previous year and wanted to know more about the park, history, and rumors for the next year

All I have to say is that it sounds as if you are all a bunch of virgins to Cedar Point and have only been around since the big rides! I have been addicted since the early 70's! I can remember the corkscrew and then when the built Gemini I was in awe!!! Back then that was an awesome ride. I have made a trek to Cedar Point at least once a year (sometimes more) since then and have enjoyed how they have really built up the park. For the longest time everyone I would talk to had no idea about Cedar Point but now with all of their additions TONS of people know about Cedar Point. I think it is pretty funny all the people jumping on the Cedar Point band wagon and thinking they are all that when their first visit to the park was only 2 or 3 years ago!!!

I've taken introduced a CP and roller coaster virgin to the park before, and they loved it.
