What's Vertigo?

I've been seeing alot of people talking about vertigo. What is it? I know it's obviously not around because it wasn't there when I went.

Looking at those pictures does bring up a question I had though... Does anyone have any photos of Vertigo at night? I noticed it seemed to have some intelligent lighting on it, and I was just wondering what it looked like at night, as I never saw it at night.

Just think, in a couple of years, we might see "What's WWL" topics.

Thanks. I know what it is now. SFGA is my home park and they have one there. I want to go on but my mom says its too expensive. :(

The Thrill Shots that you find at a couple parks are different from Vertigo.

They use different seats, not as tall/fast, and aren't as extreme.

Last I heard, S&S or Six Flags shut all the rides down until further notice.

This ride fell during the winter of jan 02. Water and ice went though the cracks of one of surports and it fell to the ground.

I remember the cause being more due to vibrations and faulty steel construction.

Vertigone.

Yes, vibrations. Technically the term is Vortex Shedding.

All I have to say is that it's a good thing it fell the way it did. :)

The lighting package was very nice. I remember pink and green with some strobing effect which was very disorienting on the way down.

That thing was way too close to my Arrows to be falling over like that.

The folks at Knott's had a joke about their Vertigo's demise:

As it was standing: VertiGo
As it was being cut down: VertiGoing
Now that it's gone: VertiGone.

Nothing will ever beat HorizontiGo, though!

Maybe we should take a hint from Music. Since Ironically that song was written before VertiGo and VertiGone. I beleive it's the opening to "10 Things I hate about You" That was released in 1999.

If I had a Million Dollars I'd bribe me a foreman. Ten minutes with the blueprints for Project '07. Hmmm...

If a pole from VertiGo falls in the winter and no one's there to hear it, does it make a sound? hmmmm :)

I've been hearing some stuff from the Lemon Chill guy lately, you wanna hear what he told me?

It depends on your definition of sound. Is sound a physical thing or something computed by the brain? If it's something computed by the brain, then the answer is no; if it's a physical thing, then the answer is yes.

The lyrics are actually "The vertigo is gonna grow 'cause it's so dangerous..." It's just more fun to get the lyrics wrong.
