Mystery Building....

Millenium Rules!!

Wednesday, July 5, 2006 10:26 PM

I have always wondered what that place is next to the Gam Day Grille and near the Blue Streak entrence/exit was. Whenever I go to Cedar Point it is always empty with nothing in it. I was wondering if Cedar Point was going to put anything in there or what it is. It almost looks like it had a pirate theme to it, whatever it was before. Can anyone explain? Thanks!

It is the building that the old pirate ride was in. Then if i remember correctly it was an arcade for a while.

So what are they going to do with it?

More than likely nothing sadly.....Game Day Grille is a full service establishment and probably has a large kitchen with it's own food stock areas. If nothing else they should do something with the exterior to make it a little easier on the eyes. It was a pretty decent ride when it was there and the big pirate ship outside was cool.

Actually the ride area of the old Pirate Ride is a small storage area next to Blue Streak...and the back part houses the Park Services Dept and Warehouse.

though I do Agree that it could use a face lift

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

They would have to do some major work to the area to make anything fit, but I can see it happening. The Main Midway hasn't seen a new ride since Raptor. But let's stick to 2007 before we go on to 08 and 09.

But unlike the front side of this building, the building that now houses equipment for maXair was still an operating side to Kiddie Kingdom Refreshments.

The Pirate Ride building, as it stands now, does nothing for guests.

I'm mainly pointing out they could use some of the building for the electrical part of a ride (like maXair) and continue using the other part for storage.

My brother was asking about that building also. It's a nice size, could be used for storage of parts and/or storage like Gomez said.

Yes yes... that building may mean nothing to guests... but to employees... it is a land of cleaning supplies, entrance stools, paper towels, candy canes.... everything your heart desires...

And a place to play Hold 'Em for the Sky Ride crew ;)

Although I highly doubt that crew is left alone in there for hours at a time anymore.

Hey, give me a ring next time a Hold 'Em tournament is on, I'm game. ;)

As for the candy canes, I could have picked up one of each height the night before opening day. There were a bunch of them just sitting at the edge of the fence of SC along the beach walkway. I could have reached under the fence and gotten them.
