Mousetrap Type Coasters

I sure hope CP never gets one of these annoying,body hurting,pain in the rear wannabe coasters.Can they really be considered COASTERS?
I recently rode one and it was the worst experience of my life.the lap bar cuts right into your stomach on every drop,you have to literally jump in because it doesnt stop to let you on and you feel so cramped in the tiny little car.Is it just me who thinks this way???I say DOWN with mouse traps!!!!

Wilde Maus at BGW brings back the fun of the small coasters. Every park needs one, not to mention it's a quick and dirty way to add to your park's coaster inventory.

What Mouse did you ride that was that bad? I kinda liked the ones I have been on...

You know what? With the very lenient exception of Corkscrew and Mean Streak (Mantis came before Chang), Cedar Point has NO CLONES coaster-wise. They won't get a Wild Mouse coaster (or a Boomerang for that matter) unless they are parts of a bigger project.

However, I went over my old Get to the Po!nt video (from 1998) and it has footage from around 1960 where there is a wild mouse coaster running there...

Well, as long as it is an original design, and, as you said, is part of an bigger deal (read: not advertised as a big new roller coaster, only as a centerpiece to an addition, like Woodstock's Express) then I see nothing wrong with CP getting a wild mouse type coaster (even though I can't see it happening seeing that Wildcat is a similar type coaster)

CP has actually had two wild mouse coasters in the late 50's to 60's time frame. One was called the Wild Mouse I think, and the other was called Scamper.

The one I rode was at Hershey Park over this past weekend and it was terrible.It totally ruined Mousetraps for me permanently.

I understand what gillian0027 is saying about HersheyParks Mild Mouse. It is a painful one. But, I'm convinced that there are some fun ones out there because they seem to have a lot of potential. That's the only one I have been on. I agree with MantisMan, I only want one if it is part of a bigger project...can you say Boardwalk.

MantisMan, I agree with our point about CP not building clones. But, If I read your message correctly, you are saying that Mean Streak is a clone (or nearly a clone) of some other ride. What ride would this be?

You could claim that Mean Streak is essentially a scaled-up model of the Texas Giant, although there are differences.

Michigan's Adventure has a decent little steel wild mouse.

These are the Wild Mouse coasters where you are in a mouse shaped car,or something close to it and it lifts you up a steep hill,you travel on the track with hairpin curves(makes u feel like you are about to fall off the track,)then a series of dips and you are done.

Some wild mice have spinning cars. [Crazy Mice, I believe. I think Reverchon mkes the cars] Exterminator at Kennywood does this.

Michigan Adventure put in an Arrow Mad Mouse last year (mouse shaped 4 passenger cars, hairpin turns & sudden drops, but no spinning). I thought it was fun, not at all painful. It was also great because our son (4 at the time) had just met the 42" height requirement & it was a great experience for him - and fun to hear his reaction - he said to his cousin, who rode with us, "I like it 'cause it makes your stomach feel almost like you're going to throw up but you don't!" (He was referring to the "drop" feeling on the hills). I think these have their place as a nice "family ride" addition to a park.
