Small fire at Breakers Tower

After spending a couple of hours at the Point last night, we got back to my parents' home around 10:30. Soon, we heard numerous fire trucks, so we turned on the police scanner. Not sure where the trucks we heard were headed, but we did listen to a fire call to the Breakers Tower.

There was a lot of confusing radio traffic, but there was a small fire on the second floor near the elevators. From what I could gather it was in a closet, but I am not sure on that. I also heard some talk of abundant water from the sprinkler system.

Was there anyone staying in the Breakers last night who could shed any light on this?

When I was in line for Millennium Force we were on the ramp and a fire truck and an ambulance(sp?) went by on the perimiter road. The time was about 11:30p.m. There was only one fire truck though so the fire wasn't big. When we got to the station I asked one of the ride ops. what happened and she said there was some kind thing happening at Breakers. Thats all I know though.

I heard on the news that six rooms got damaged! But they(11 toledo) didn't say where, they said in the Breakers!!!!!

my friend just got back from breakers tower today. she said that they sounded the alarm at first and then they had to evacuate. after that, they gathered in the hall and once everything was taken care of, the employees said that any guest staying in rooms above the 2nd floor could return to their rooms (the fire was on the 2nd floor). good thing my friend was staying on the 4th floor! then, later on in the night, they sounded the alarm yet again!!! they said to evacuate again! that was just a test or something, didnt get all the details on that. my friend also said that there was a lot of water damage and the elevators were down for some time. thats all i know! good thing no one was injured (that ive heard of!)

visiting the point tomorrow!!!

Good thing? Personally, I'd prefer to be below any fire in a high rise, thanks.
