Official Announcements

Is there a certain day or time fram taht CP announces new attractions in the up-coming year? If so does anyone know when it is. Thanks!

A quick look in the NEWS section of this site shows us that MF was announced July 22, 1999, while Camp Snoopy was announced November 3 ,1998... So there is no real pattern here...

Camp Snoopy was the exception, however. The details were widely known in August, 1998.

Heck, we have probably known what is coming next year since last year. It's called the Boardwalk.

In September of 1995 that was when Cedar Point announced the plans for (Banshee) Mantis.

As far as I remember, MF and Camp Snoopy being the exceptions, the new attractions are generally announced right after Labor Day, or the start of the season pass renewal campaign.

Hey...How do you know that there is only ONE thing going on next year?

Care to explain, or are you just assuming more than one thing is going up?

All I'm saying is that there may not be only one thing going to happen next year. There is definatly something (which you will find out soon), but I'm not even in a position to say anything about the Boardwalk project, as I do not know as much about that one.

I'm guessing we will know by late August from the people who work there. Do they tell them in advance or hear any info before the official announcements?

It depends on the project. Camp Snoopy wasn't exactly the world's best secret. FT employees were told about that project 3 months before the announcement. MF, on the other hand, was like national security.

We might not know for a while what's going to happen for next year at the Point. But whatever is going to happen, it's been a secret for probably a year or two now. MF took 2 years of planning, 7 mos. of building, and 2 mos. of testing. (Got that off the official site) So something could be "official" here before too long. Let's just hope not too many crazy rumors get thought up before then!!!
