So, for Maxair, the range was $101-262. Not bad, considering you get breakfast and free entry. Effectively then, the lowest bid was actually only about $50. :)

I've had no problems getting to the site, and I've yet to place my bid, but I will.

I wonder why they added the 40 seats? If I'm looking at the site correctly, they've only had 42 bids already. For my money, it doesn't matter if I'm in the first or second 40, but the experience I had last year talking to John Hillenbrandt (sp?) about the new area around maXair was priceless. So who else will be there?

Depending on what seats people want to sit in, people in the higher bid spots may decide to go on the second ride. Unlikely, but possible. I was getting ready to place a higher bid, I'm glad I waited.

Uncle Sam spoiled my chances of being able to bid this year. :-/

Good luck to all of those that do bid!

Hell I remember when they did the Mantis auction back in '96, my how things have changed.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

With only 2 days to go, they still have 31 slots open with no bids? Is this the first time (it appears) they are having difficulty filling the auction spots?

I think part of the problem is that they added the second 40 seats with only 6 days left to bid.

Well, bidding has officialy ended, and I'm among the first 40 riders. They still have 18 empty slots. I wonder how they will work the second ride... Maybe the top 18 bidders will get to ride twice.

I am among the first 40 riders as well. I just called the Firelands Red Cross and bid my wife a ride on the second set of rides. It still cost $75 but it was worth it. I will see you guys there.

I'm in the second 40, #41-44? I bid one of the 85 buck spots. I'm looking forward to a fun, but cold morning.

Speaking of which, did they mention anywhere what time they wanted to get started this year? I don't recall seeing that posted anywhere.

I was wondering that as well. I e-mailed the Red Cross to ask about my season pass, and they said I could give the admission to a friend but they would have to use it on the 6th and would'nt be able to participate in the events. Hopefuly they don't want us too early, because my friend and I will be driving together.
