I'm trying to decide which is dumber. That article itself (no quotes, no useful information, and just dumb in general) or the fact that you somehow managed to gather that info from it?

I'm not trying to be rotten, but there's nothing in there that "confirms" a 500 foot coaster. I doubt the newspaper will be where we get the confirmation.

And the article basically says, "People like to ride new rides so amusement parks like to build them!" It was really a riveting read, let me tell you! :)

Can The Register write anything that isn't inspired by some news or forum topic here?

If anything, I think that this article, (and the other one) are saying we're not getting a record breaker........just my opinion.

What might not be interesting to us, might be interesting to others.

We got another picture WWL's former site out of it. Nothing special but hey, there's dirt. :)

We went to CP Sunday to get our passes. After that we drove to Lighthouse Point. Anyhow, the view of the former WWL site is wide open from the road. There are probably more than a hundred footings scattered throughout that site. The photo didn't show them but, they are certainly building a coaster or something similar. You could see the new wood railing on the reworked TC queue. The color was much lighter than the old railing. The site includes all of the WWL site around to just outside the TC loading platform. Also there are no walls or construction fences in place to block the view at any point on the perimeter of the construction site. The only fence is the chainlink fence between the train tracks and the road. In fact a large gate to the side was open and nobody in sight. We could have walked right in. Maybe they will build the wall this week However, I doubt if they could it in time, plus it would be pointless. There are too many rides over there where you could see the WWL site from. This was late Sunday afternoon.

On your footings count... Is that just a guess, or did you do a quick count to get that number?

I would call it an educuated guess. I just checked the original "footers" thread for the first time in weeks. On that thread someone recently said there were maybe a dozen footings. I have no doubt there are in fact a hundred or more. We didn't count them but, we did take a long look from various points on the Perimeter Road. I was amazed at the amount of footings and the amount of land there were spread over.

Exactly what I was wondering. Nice detective work, can't wait to see them myself. Only 434.5 more hours to go!
