Quite a few rides have been removed from Cedar Point. What happened to them? Did any of them get put up in other parks? What about the earliest rides?

Several have been moved and several were "retired". I know Michigan's Adventure got Dodgems #1, but am not sure about other parks. I seem to remember reading about other rides going elsewhere.

i believe most of the rides "die".......during halloweekends they have a ride graveyard for the rides that no longer exist like the swabitchen(which i know is spelled horribly wrong) it's very cool they way they have them rest in peace

I think you're refering to Stricker's Grove. Stricker's Grove is a private picnic park and is only open to the public 2 days a year.

Schwabinchen was actually moved to another park? I figured it was scrapped after sitting in the EVC lot for so long...

The Swan Boats are now in a much better location at Michigan's Adventure.

And some people need to press the shift key at the beginning of their sentences.

It looks like the Scawabinchen is for sale, found it on another web site.

Are you sure about the Super Jets? A ride just like it appeared at Canobie Lake the same year Cedar Points was removed.

Dodgem I - near the Sky ride station (east) on West side of midway - was in fact scrapped. The building next to it was the old wax museum. the Dodgem building was converted into a locker rental type building.

Dodgem I (new one) - across from Sky ride West (the cars only) were sent to MA.

Dodgem II - (the building only) Near Witches Wheel was sent to MA.

The cars from Dodgem II were moved to the "new" Dodgem I building, near Sky ride west.

Whew

They completely rebuilt the Dodgem building in 2004? They did an amazing job on that by the way, it was very ugly by CP standards..

See if this sounds right.

The original Dodgem (front gate) became Dodgem 1 when Dodgem 2 was introduced on the new midway in 1970. The third Dodgem by Witch's Wheel took the place of the original (which was scrapped) and became, then, know as Dodgem 1.

Now the only Dodgem left, technically, is Dodgem 2 after the new Dodgem 1 was sent to MA.

Double whew!

I didn't realize the cars stayed at C.P.

I agree that the 2004 remake of the Dodgem facade is fabulous, it hadn't seen a change since it was built and was really looking shabby. It has a true traditional amusement park sense to it. C.P. could indulge in a few more designs like that as far as I'm concerned.
