Does it annoy you too?

When you are at the park, you constantly hear people talking about MF. The thing is, alot of people keep on just calling it, "The Millennium", and not Millennium Force. For the first few times, I did'nt realy care, but now after hearing it a ton of times each and every time I go to the park, it has gotten REALY annoying. Do any of you feel the same about this lazyness and ignorance?

Whenever I hear people talking about it they call it That Millennium Thing or the Millennium Ride.

"Hey John, did you ride on that big millenium ride yet?"

Is the name Millennium Force just to difficult for the average person to remember?

It's a hard concept, to remember the Force on Millennium Force, I guess. :-)

I think it's kind of cool when I hear "The Millennium" or "The Force".

I'm just amazed if anyone knows anything about it down here, no matter what they call it!

Saying "The Force" is alright, because it sounds kinda cool, very starwars, lol. "The Millenium" just sounds kinda dumb if you think about it.

But hey, you will continue to have ignorance. It's like at KINGS ISLAND, the new Son Of Best, people call it The Son, or The Beast 2. People are so dumb. (well, most of them anyways)

I hear people call Raptor "The big green thing"

I've heard them call Raptor "Rapture".

I call it "The line ride".

I can't believe that no one said "The Millenium Coaster. That seemed to be the big one on my recent class trip. We shouldn't be complaing about the names, we should just be happy that no stupid rumors are flying around. Now if you'll excuse me I have to bandage my hand, it was hurt during my last trip to the point. :)

I heard people say Magnum Force, Rapture, and Tower of Power.

I had an argument with a neighbor last year about Raptor. They insisted it was Rapture. They still did'nt belive me after I showed them my on-ride photo. I'm sure ignorance will stay around, but come on, it's name is all over, and it's in big silver letters by the ride entrance, not to mention the banners around the park, the park map, etc etc.

Somewhatchewy, they didn't believe you because a lot of people aren't well read enough to have seen the term "raptor" as a reference to a bird of prey. Since they are also poor spellers, and "rapture" is the only word they know that looks phonetically close, "raptor" becomes "rapture". Annoying, yes - uncommon, no - even among some fairly well-educated people. And don't even get me going on people's improper use of "it's" and "its", "you're" and "your", "they're", "their" and "there" and "mute point" instead of "moot point", etc., etc. And by the way, "etc." stands for "eTcetera", not "eXcetera".) Now, aren't I a snob? :) And I hope I didn't misspell anything in this post! :)

how about THEN and THAN? I've seen that a lot - Oh, that's the other one. It's spelled 'A LOT', not 'ALOT'. It's TWO words.

Millennium Force is just too long to say when you're talking about it so much. 5 syllables. You have almost all of the other coasters at CP with 2 syllables - Raptor, Mantis, Magnum, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, etc. (eTcetera) to Cheaprock. I myself just call it MF or The Force usually.

yeah my friend kept callin it "the millennium" and so every time she said that, i was always like "what? what is that? i dont know what you ae talking about" and was all annoying about it so she would say the full thing... of course she only said it all snotty after that but hey, she still said it right!

People call CCMR "The Mine Ride".

Personally, I like "The Force"
