update on our flying friends

My first excursion to the point from way down here in MD is next weekend. I was wondering how the mayflies are. usually we go a week earlier and they are packing the park, but this year we are hoping they wont be as bad from the 17th to the 23rd of june. can anyone who lives up there give me an update on our flying friends.

I didn't think they were bad. But others might conflict to that.

They weren't bad because the mayflies haven't appeared yet.

Well....when DO they appear? Maybe it said in one of your groovy mayfly articles, but I forget. I'd like to know just incase they'll be there the 13th and 14th when I get there.

Answer: You don't...

so basically just about when i come up next weekend ;) god i love my consistancy with those little buggers. i guess its another trip of "crunching" around the point. good article jeff, explained alot about what they actually are....fine writing :)

Being at the park sunday and tuesday, I would concur that they were not bad yet, but they did appear to be building.

Seeing them at a few places on sunday, and seeing more on tuesday.

Quite a few around the backside of arcade area/kiddie area.

Starting to "hang" around carousel at night by tuesday.

Man, you should see these things in Cleveland! I live a block and a half from the lake and I have to share my bedroom with them at night!

though they will certainly get worse, there are plenty to go around right now! Already clothing and shoes are decorated with "bug juice" and their fuzzy little corpses need to be swept away in the morning.

It's strange... the midges in Cleveland are smaller than those found at Cedar Point. They cover the building I work in downtown.
