Cedar Point on Channel 4 Detroit 7/6

Hey Everyone,

Channel 4 (WDIV) in Detroit is going to have some stuff about Cedar Point on its news tomorrow (7/6) at 6PM.

Also they are having several contests for tickets.

Ummm... why? Just because? Seems odd...

They are just doing it to promote Cedar Point I guess. They said they are going to talk about tips on going there and stuff.

Probably none. Its an OTA Detroit channel.

Don't know if they'll post any video, or any part of the piece, for that matter, but anyone outside of the SE MI area might want to check http://www.clickondetroit.com/index.html either later tonight or early tomorrow. I would guess that, if they do throw it up, it would be under "entertainment" or "travel," if not on the main page.

I forsee them mentioning Freeway, as their "secret" way to beat the lines...

He told us to buy a ticket. He told us that we should not pay full price, and he mentioned how to get discounts. [AAA, AARP] He also mentioned the best days to come.[Last 2 Weeks IN August] YEP Mentioned Freeway, and advised you to use it on Raptor.

He mentioned that they give out free ice water, and you shouldent buy food in the park. He said that you should bring food to the picnic pavilion.

Yeah, that was very disappointing. Nothing you coudln't have figured out by reading the features on this site.

They showed the same thing they showed earlier in the season. In the beginning when it was just before the actual feature it showed just a bunch of on ride footage and one of the roller coasters wasn't even a Cedar Point one. I actually have a couple of Valpack coupons sitting here next to me for $12 off a Funday admission.

Interesting, too bad I missed, however it sounds like I didn't miss anything I didn't already know.

On another note, WXYZ, channel 7 in Detroit, is supposed to have a story on tonight's 6PM news about the "dangers of roller coasters" . Should be worth a chuckle or two.

Just remember, the piece was geared towards the GP, not CP junkies. For the average person, they probably don't know you can bring your own food, or get ice water, or what freeway is. Especially if they are going their first time.
