Weight Issues...

I have a few questions of weight issues. I am probably going to the park over July 4th and brining a bunch of friends. There are two guys who weight around 310 pounds and have around a 42 inch waist. I wanted to know if they are going to be able to ride Millenium Force, Dragster, and Raptor at least. Does anybody know the Weight or Size restrictions on all the rides in the park(we all meet the height requirements lol) if you have any information I would be grateful.

~Chris

There are no weight restrictions per say. It is not likely that they will fit on TTD or MF. They can try the test seats by the entrance to the rides, but I am 6ft, 220lbs, 38 inch waist, and I barely fit on MF. Raptor, and any other ride with OSTR's depend more on your height and your chest size than anything else. Hope this helps.

When you say you can barely fit into MF, is it because of your legs, and not enough leg room?

Because your body sounds about the same as mine, I just hoping I can get on those rides, or I will be devastated, and my whole trip will be ruined.

Probably because of the Belt size. I too have a 38 inch waist and have to squeeze myself into the ride.

Well, whaddya know. There is a Candy Mountain.

If you have a waist size over 40 inches, you should forget about riding Millenium Force. I struggled to get on and barely fit. I fit on Dragster fine. I'm 5' 10" and have about a 38 inch waist. Can't they do something about the belts on that ride? Even old rides like Gemini and Corkscrew have more then enough slack!

I'm 5'9" with a 37" waist. I have no trouble on TTD or MF.

The Insane Juggalo, Corkscrew doesn't have a seatbelt.

I can only tell you it depends on how your weight is distributed. I am 6' 4", 270lbs, 42" waist and this year I have ridden 13 of the 16 Coasters at the Point this year. I haven't ridden Mantis, Wicked Twister, and Jr. Gemini. I probably could have fit on those as well if I had wanted to ride them.

J Ohde, Mantis is a cool ride. People say that it feels like it's going to rip your legs off, but I haven't experienced any type of pain on it yet.

For Wicked Twister, that coaster is just awesome! I love being launched off on an inverted coaster. If and when you do ride it, you need to get the front row, or the back row for the best experience.

When I say barely fit I mean I have about 1 1/2 inch of black showing on the belt. Now that they are allowing you to ride with 1/2 inch of slack I will have a little more breathing room.

Grady, 1.5 inches is still a lot. Even if you were required to pull 1 inch before.

Barely fitting would be only being able to pull the required 1/2 inch or the old required 1 inch.

Ben, I don't know what you consider 1 1/2 inches to be, :} but this is what it is i-------------------------------i dude, for me, thats to close for comfort.

Ok, then it's personal preference. I think that 1.5 inches is a good deal of slack, considering that almost all riders can only pull that.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think you should have to have any slack. If you can buckle it you should be able to ride. But hey, I'm not an expert by any means. I am just saying it's to close for comfort for me, I better stop eating, LOL.

True, but it isn't up to CP. It's all Intamin's decision. It isn't Intamin's falt, it's just up to them whether or not CP can operate a ride in a certain way.

Benjamin. I will probably ride Mantis and Wicked Twister sometime. Most of my height is in my upper body and rides like Mantis are unconfortable. In March, I rode Vortex at Carowinds and had trouble fitting in it. It really dug into my shoulders.

I was really surprised how comfortable Raptor was. I had rode it several years ago and it was not a good time. I was quite a bit heaver then and was seriously squeezed into the seat. I could barely breath. I finally got up the nerve to try it again yesterday. It was a better ride this time.

Ben, if you make a decision and it turns out that your decision is moronic, then it is your fault.

The decision is Intamins. Its a stupid, knee-jerk decision. It IS their fault.

Actually, it does now. As of 6/13/05.
