Now I had ridden Dragster about twenty times before yesterday but I got the most intense air time I have ever experienced on the Tophat. Our speed said 122 but for some reason we just flew over the top. To tell you the truth it was some of the most intense airtime on any coaster I have ever ridden.
Has any one noticed that MUCH faster tophat clearance this year?

Is there a intelligent answer to why CP can't launch the ride over the tower any faster? It did it fine on Media Day and most of May 2003. With a 10,000 hp motor, I'm sure they can do something.
I'm no engineer or expert on the rides mechanics, so anybody could tell me otherwise.

I'm pretty sure it's going over at about the same speed it always has. It just varies a little bit depending on temperature, wind, and weight. I don't really think anything has been toned down. As for 2003, I think there were more rollbacks that year than last year or so far this year. It did fly over on media day and opening day because they had the trains shortened by one car.

My first ride on TTD on May 23, 2003 was one of the best. I got a lot of airtime going over. The train didn't fly over, but it wasn't going slow by all means. It wasn't until July 4 when the ride reopened after the extended downtime that the ride started going really slow.

No airtime at all and I was there on the 26th, 27th and 28th of May and rode it 7 times.
Beautiful view at 420 feet yet no airtime. Best feeling was the 1st 3 seconds of push and the 90 degree dive at 420. Case Closed..........
You want air time, go to Power Tower, ( Blast Down or top of 1st Blast Up), or MF 1st Drop, or Magnum 1st drop and the tunnels, or Gemini 1st and 4th drop, or MaxAir after the 3rd swing, or Wicked Twister (back car 2nd blast up), or Mean Streak....sorry I forgot no airtime on that, or finally Demon Drop.
Don't expect airtime from a ride like TTD.
Expect the following:
1. Awesome blast.
2. 3 seconds of feeling like someone is punching your stomach.
3. On your back acending 420 feet with a turn 90 degrees straight up.
4. Tophat with no sound or airtime at all (I couldn't hear a thing).
5. Straight down (couldn't see the tracks, then again, I've never got the front seat).
6. Twist with some airtime.
7. Awesome speed and a slowdown.
A great ride no doubt, but don't expect alot of airtime.
I have had just about every experiance you can have on TTD. From a roll back to serious air over the top. One day we thought we were going to get a roll back but it just creeped over the top. One thing I have not had is a stall on the top, that would be great to have to be pushed over. I think that is one of the great things about the ride, you never know what kind of ride your going to get.
First trip June 23rd
