I'll comment on a few things here:
For one thing, CP knew about the Morgan going up in Japan. What they didn't know was that it was going to end up being taller than MF. According to a fellow friend of mine who went on a few tours during the winter, Janis was heartstruck to hearing the rumors of the Morgan being taller than MF.
Now, if they went 400 ft, we must remember that there wouldn't that much of a difference with speed. It would be a whole lot taller, but with terminal velocity comming into play, the speed probably wouldn't even be 10 MPH faster than it runs right now. Unless we see the introdution on LIMs or LSMs or something else on drops (ignoring flat launches here of course), speed won't get much faster than we see it now.
About the cable lift. In reality, you could make that cable lift as long as you wanted. There really is no limitation to that. The design is simple enough that it could go well above 1000 ft. long.
I'm not sure if the wheel problem would be quite as bad as it would be on MF if it went 400 ft. Remember that there is not much of a speed difference, so the heat on the wheels wouldn't be that much different. There is one problem with this though: the speed of the drop wouldn't be much different, BUT the wheels would be under that speed (angular and Vcm) for a longer period of time. Maybe it would be smart to look for a better wheel material for something like that. That's a another story at that! Please feel free to comment as this is my first post on this board.
