At this year's No Coaster Con, Cedar Point had so many givaways, they had to recruit like 6 people to pass it all out... Most of them were like teenagers. And then when they were done, Bryan Edwards said that they were all going to media day on May 5th... Lucky kids. *** Edited 3/28/2005 5:26:51 PM UTC by MForce310***
Who cares? maXair isn't a one of a kind ride. It isn't ground breaking or record breaking. You'll get to ride it this year.
October 13 - Finally!
Top Thrill Dragster - 15
Millennium Force - 15
While media day is directed at the... media, I suspect they invite guests to improve the atmosphere of the ride. Maybe that will give them better reports acrossed the board. TTD's media day could have been better, but the ride still had a lot of problems back then. The camera problems did nothing but compund them. Then again, it was a situation where you either fluster a large number of people with a ride the breaks down a lot, or do it even worse with a ride that opens late. TTD wasn't ready to be opened by media day. The ride was safe, but not very functional.
Luckly, maXair will be more of a functional ride than TTD was on media day and opening day. (Rides don't run better on media day than they do on opening day)
Ever since they built WT I've been hoping that the small town newspaper I write for would be lucky enough to receive a media day invitation, but so far no luck. Then again, media day is (allegedly) only one day before opening day this year, so it's not much more to wait.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Yeah, but to some people, being the first is special. Other people laugh at those people, but I find it special.
At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs. Was the something out there?... A mysterious force at work? Beyond words. Beyond comprehension. Beyond, beyond beyond… A natural force simply known as, Millennium Force. The future is riding on it.…
Okay so the above post is of me in my "hiding" status (I'm swimmerkev) now that people know (see "Webcam Forum" in suggestions forum) I can say that I was one of those "lucky kids". (By the way, I changed to this name because they thought I was lying about the media day.) I have proof, Bryan Edwards called me TODAY and got my adress. The invitations are being sent out next week. I'll have a scan of it once I get it. I hope some other people will get their invites too.

Yeah, breaking, but not SHATTERING. I mean, TTD was crazy because it was the tallest fastest COASTER (and that means somwthing) but this is just a flat. A good one, but it's not a big draw. WT was tallest impulse, but wasn't a huge draw. And also, WT was most coasters too, right?

Uh I don't understand the above post... I knew there would be a media day... I'M GOING. I was talking about this:
"Media Day will probably be pretty crazy, just because adding another ride broke the record again"

Does it really matter guys?? Shessh..let it go
Media Day is a lot of fun..Its usually a very spirited and enjoyable environment.. There are a few enthusiasts invited..who else would the media have to talk to other than CP staff and their own..

Sparty On!
So you get to ride a brand new ride before the park opens. You get to see the park while its being prepped for opening day. You are invited to see a side of the park that 99.99% of the people who visit are NEVER going to see.
And yet you still complain. If no ID is required to use your passes, PM me and I'll give you an address you can send them to.
Goodbye MrScott
John
