I can just say this: A Giant Huss Frissbee is a BIG plus to have, for any park around. I tried the Sledge Hammer at Bobbejaanland, Belgium and I must say; that is one scary hell-of-a-ride!! The feeling of weightlessness is amazing, and the G-forces really does their thing to your stomach. By the way, I live in Denmark, and will be going (for the first time) to CP from june 7th - june 16th. I can´t even begin to describe how exited I am. :)) Sry, for getting a little off-topic. All enjoy maXair, it WILL blow you away for sure! Happy season, everyone
This thread seems to come up every year, just by reading past threads... "Media Day" is for - the media! Best way to get invited probably would be to be *gasp* a reporter for a news station or such since its not a all day ERT deal, it is a working day. From what it seems like, parks sometimes invite a few enthusiasts to smile for the cameras, but its a serious event so for the most part you really got to know the park. I wouldn't worry about getting invited, you really arn't missing anything. My guess is with all the audio/video stuff the ride is down more than up(to change cameras, wait for live remotes, etc.)... I think I remember reading for Top Thrill Dragster on Media Day the line was over an hour because not only of ride problems but because of the camera stuff.
I hope MaxAir Media Day goes more smoothly than the one for TTD.
I arrived for TTD Media Day at 5:15 a.m. with hopes of getting in plenty of rides, but ride problems and the aforementioned camera issues conspired against me. When it was all said and done, I had ONE ride. It was a great ride, but I'd hoped for sooooo much more.
My expectations for multiple rides stemmed from stories I'd heard about Wicked Twister Media Day the year before. I heard various accounts of getting multiple rides. But ... different ride, different story.
Alas, my first -- and probably only -- Media Day was a bit of a disappointment. But hey, I still got to ride the new coaster before most people who wanted to ride TTD.
So, I can't complain (too much).

How does one get invited to media day?
By being (gasp!) a member of the media!

TTD media day was total bust. I also got there around 5am and only got 2 rides in 6 hours. Even with the horendous wait times CP still made the day enjoyable with plenty of free pop, food, and merchandise. I would expect maXair's media day to be similar to WT's were you could get almost too many rides and start to feel sick.

At this year's No Coaster Con, Cedar Point had so many givaways, they had to recruit like 6 people to pass it all out... Most of them were like teenagers. And then when they were done, Bryan Edwards said that they were all going to media day on May 5th... Lucky kids. *** Edited 3/28/2005 5:26:51 PM UTC by MForce310***
At the turn of the Millennium, there were signs. Was the something out there?... A mysterious force at work? Beyond words. Beyond comprehension. Beyond, beyond beyond… A natural force simply known as, Millennium Force. The future is riding on it.…
