There are back up air tanks that have enough pressure to bring it to a stop, so I've read

They e-stop and slowly lower to the ground. There is a battery which allows restraint release.

I think the only power outage ride I'd be scared on would be Sky Ride or Giant Wheel. Any other ride would be fine, I think.

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.

I think being stuck on any ride would be a very interesting experience. I think being stuck near the top of Millennium or Magnum wouldn't be all bad, it would be a great view and perhaps very tranquil.

Sky Ride has a back up engine if the power/electric drive fails. I'm not sure about Giant Wheel, but I think they use the weight of the riders to help unbalance and spin the wheel around after they release the brakes.

I was working at Cedar Point when we had that Huge Power Outage but to tell you the truth I dont remember how they did Wicked Twister. I saw them (CP ) Unlocking Mean Streak and Cedar Creak Mine Ride and having the guest walk down the lift hill. So thats about it

During the power outage, thankfully, the train was in the station when the power went completely out.

A train was stopped on the mid-course brake, and the front car was hanging out beyond the catwalk. Why they didn't just release the train and let it finish to the final brakes is beyond me. They ended up pulling the people off with a cherry picker.

The media goes to great lengths to blow up stories about roller coasters. A Invertigo type ride stop on its lift hill last summer and the news said that the riders were stranded over 200 feet above the ground. The ride was about 130 feet high. They made it sound like someone almost died on TTD when the cable incident occured. I'm backing up Joe here by saying the media many times lie or stretch the truth on these type of stories.

by "these types of stories" you mean everything they get their hands on.... The media has a habit of over-stating things because sensationalism sells papers and ads....Most people won't know any better anyways so they can get away with it.
