I went in May this year, we get a long weekend in May around the 24th. It was really windy when we got there in the morning, Raptor, Wicked Twister, and Dragster were closed. As the day went on it was very nice and all of the rides opened. Its funny because I live in Windsor, bordering Detroit and our weather is usually very similar or the same as the weather in Sandusky.

Any idea what the crowds will be like during the week in May?
I'm specifically speaking to those who've been and gone those weeks, what a typical crowd would be like?
I'm another Ontarian planning a few trips to the Point next year, and the first will be in May.
I'm actually pondering getting a CP season pass, making a 3-day trip in May, and another 3-day trip in August.. is this a good call or a bad idea?

With the exception of perhaps Live Entertainment, Cedar Point is more or less 100% from Day 1.
I also am I Canadian and I went this year on May 24th, the Monday of the long weekend. The crowds weren't that bad. Many coasters like Gemini, Meanstreak, and Magnum had very short lines, some times none at all. I think that if you went on the Monday of the long weekend and then stayed for your other 2 days after that the crowds would be very low. The Monday would probably be the busiest (but still very low compared to a warm July day) just because many Canadians go on that day. The 2 following days would probably be decently low.
When do the American kids get out of school?

Schools let out for summer break at various times, but the last week of May through the first week of June is a very popular time for the last day of school.
I think I like early to mid September even better, as far as light crowds go. We had the place nearly to ourselves the weekend after Labor Day. School was back in session and Halloweekends had not yet begun. We actually got walk-on's on TTD & MF that weekend. And the weather tends to be a bit better in September, rather than in May. I'll never, EVER visit in late June through early August again.

ive made trips in may the last few years. i like to go then because of the smaller crowds and the cheaper hotel rates you find before memorial day weekend. the only drawback in my opinion is that soak city isnt open yet... but its usually cold/windy enough that i probably wouldnt go even if it was.
I went in May a few years ago & it was great! A little chilly in the mornings & evenings but a sweatshirt worked fine. A hint, make sure you wear a sweatshirt on Millenium Force, its cold up there.
