Could TTD be upgraded?

Why not use LIMs on the lift hill...you'd have to think of how to put in an anit roll back feature though.

I never said it would be easy, it was simply a suggestion for a possible alternative to a chain lift hill or elevator cable style like MF.

I was thinking the same thing as Delbert. If Kingda Ka has a more reliable launch system, which we don't know yet, could TTD be retrofitted to make it more reliable?

I don't think that those bigshots would see the price vs. profit ratio to be high enough. TTD has been running okay and I'm sure that it will be better next year. But they won't see where it would be worth to put in a new launch system just to make it more realiable. You can't really advertise that. New this year, TTD's new launch system. It'll fix the mistakes we made before. Now it would be nice. Plus what are the odds KK will be more realiable.

people i work at cedar point. I get mad too when TTD is down most of the day. it is not CP fault it is the company who built the ride. i think when a guest gets mad when ttd it is down is funny and they compalin that thier whole day is ruin. hey there is 67 other rides to go on well not 67 cause you got kiddie rides u cant go on. but there is 15 other coasters at cp u can ride. well jr. gemini u can ride if take a kid on. all i am saying to guest quit your complaining and get a life and grow UP!!!!!!!!!!!

For the record, California Screamin' at DCA uses a LIM lift with a series of fin brakes that close behind the train as an antirollback.

Thats pretty cool, I have never heard of any coasters that currently exist and utilize this type of technology...CP could use it, but there would be no: "World Record as first to use LIM Lift System..."

Could TTD be "upgraded"? With a TON of time, money, and work...sure. It's possible. Would it be worth it? No. Will it ever happen? No.
