No, nothing "followed" you except maybe some lame chase lights added alongside the lift a few years later.

Who remembers the TV screens alongside the stairs to the departure station with really poor actresses giving you the "flight to Alaska" safety instructions? "...expected mothers cannot ride and Molly Smith cannot ride either, 'cause she was always mean to me in high school..."
