power tower

Has anyone ever rode power tower (the drop side) and got stuck at the top? I rode it the other day and was thinking about how scary that would be to be hanging there 240' in the air. Just wandering.

i honest to god think of that every time i am on it, which is in part what makes it so thrilling for me.

i am DEATHLY afraid of heights, but madly in love with rides like this.

Its not scary at all this coming from experience. Last March Shorty won a maintenance ride on Supreme Scream at Knotts during their winter solace. Basically we got in the car with the head of park operations and we slowly went up the tower. Anytime we wanted to stop he called maintenance who was working the controls and BAM we stopped. We went all the way to the top of the tower and slowly went back down. The nice thing about the entire trip was that we were allowed to bring our cameras!

I have rode it 4 times, and I have always thought about being stuck up there. Man, what a sight that would be!

Cause we all know Jeff is a mean old man who takes joy in other peoples pain.

He only deletes the posts that should get deleted. It's his website he can do whatever he wants too.

Your up at the top depending on how heavy the car is.

Full /heavy=more time cause the ride has to have enough air pressure to push it back up

Empty or light= Less time because requiers less air pressure to be pumped

I have seen them up their from 1second to a little less than 1 min

A second? And near a minute? How's about 7-15 seconds, if that. The difference between and empty cart and a heavy one is only 4 psi. And it doesn't use that air presssure to stop the cart either.

King Island

I have seen people stuck at the top of a tower ride. When I worked at Paramount's Kings Island, a full "car" of people were stuck at the top of Drop Zone. When I went out at the start of my shift, it was going up and then I waited to watch it. It didn't drop. I waited for about a minute then continued. After 2 hours, a helicopter with maintenance flew to the top and dropped off a pair of maintanance people who had to manually uncrank the hooks and let the people drop. Luckily, the ride is slowed by magnets and the ride was closed.
