Pizza Hut?

I work at Taco Bell. And we received our food delivery today. The truck got there late and said that he was late because he was at cedar point delivering food to the new pizza hut inside cedar point. was he joking? I am surprised that I have not seen it or heard about it. But he seemed serious. Thanks for the responses.

Sounds like the truth. I remember someone, maybe even Mike Mason himself, talk about getting Pizza Hut at the park. If true, maybe it will replace the awful crap at Pizza Patio!

I'm surprised that they don't opt for a better pizza than they have. The pizza is ok, but I think they could do better.

I rather see another franchise instead of Pizza Hut, but isn't Pizza Hut owned by Pepsi?

And CP is a Pepsi park (sadly).

Such a strange reversal, adding these franchises. For years CP worked to eliminate all the external vendors from the park, and operate all the food service internally. Now the pendulum swings the other way again, and the outsiders are coming back. Now if they would only get a Coffelt's franchise.

The difference is that CP owns the franchises, so it is still internal. In the old times of Coffelt's and Berardi's, the respective companies actually operated the franchise.

I was at the park today and I noticed no Pizza Hut anywhere. If they were to bring in a restaurant like that Pizza Hut is under YUM foods which is owned by Pepsi. So I guess technically it could happen.

Yes, I agree the park does need better piazza but I don't think Pizza Hut in the answer. I think they need to look east and see what Knoebels does with their pizza, its the best pizza in the amusement industry.

First, Pizza Hut is a franchise that would let the park own the rights so it could be in house. Second the Pepsi connection has no relevance to the situation. In fact i believe that Pepsi doesn't even "own" the company anymore. Regardless, GLP had a P Hut franchise for years as a Coke park and served Coke out of the P Hut locations.

I don't particularly care for Pizza Hut personally, but they can make a ton of cash if run properly. THe thing that kills me is that pizza is among the cheapest and easiest products to produce. It would seem that if CP wanted to create their own concept it wouldn't be to difficult. I imagine that they have to have SOME people in the FS department that could come up with something that takes the best from many different concepts. Whenever a park goes out and buys the premade crap because it cuts on labor they ALWAYS loose on quality. But then again i don't know that they haven't been trying to do that all along. But i have no doubt that they would be able to produce something as good as or better than P Hut if they wanted and keep all of the profit.

It could be a delivery for the pizza hut right by the park. I believe they are only open during the summer(correct me if im wrong).

But I do also agree that the pizza at the point could be improved.

Is there pizza delivery to the on site hotels and and Lighthouse Point? I thought I read somewhere that there is. I may be wrong though.

Pizza is very cheap to make and high in profit. I do not recall them changing their pizza since the 80's that I know of, but I don't eat their pizza all that much.

In reality, I think the cheaper pizza is making them money though. Kids love Pizza, and they aren't Pizza savvy enough to know a good one from a bad one. Mom and dad will give in and get the the darn pizza.

I'd love to see them with a better pizza.

In the last several years it does seem that the park is getting better eating options though, making it not just a ride park, but a place to go have dinner, ride some rides, puke your dinner up....

I hope they sell the cut up fruit again this year. That was a great idea.

Hmmm, I do not see Pizza Hut at the point, as they own the East of Chicago on the Causeway.

why would owning a competeing franchise be out of the question if they thought the added choice would help the bottom line?

We've had Domino's delivered to the campground before.

The only pizza hut I know of close to Cedar Point is off of route 2, maybe 5 or 10 miles out. It could be further.

They did that in the early nineties, and then screwed it up. The pizza they sold at Dominic's and Breakers room service used to be superb. Fresh made, excellent crust and a great sauce. Then, a few years ago, they switched to that pre-baked crust crap and totally ruined the pizza. The original Dominic's pizza was some of the best I've had anywhere.

While I was at Breakers Express this weekend, there was an advertisement for different places to eat and drink at the Radisson. It said something about enjoying different Pizza Hut items while staying there. The advertisement was on one of the elevators.
