Meanstreak 2004

I usually try to avoid riding Meanstreak as much as possible, but on Saturday I wanted to hit as many coasters as I could (if you're wondering, I managed to hit the 14 biggies).

I've never had a better ride. It's not smooth like Millennium, but I didn't feel like my head was in a blender. This was my first time experiencing Meanstreak this way.

I've read other trip reports, and people seem to be having the same reactions.

So...was it just that the park had just opened? Or is there something else going on here?

The trim brakes are what shook you up so much, and they aren't using them right now. Correct me if I'm wrong...

The lift trims were on in full force Saturday night when I rode, and I didn't notice the ride to be considerably smoother than normal...maybe you guys are just getting used to it.

I was there Sunday and today and the trims are OFF on the lift. The Streak has never been better than now!

When we rode it on saturday the trims were on. And it was also one of the worst rides We have ever had on mean streak. It was almost as bad as closing day last year.

I sure wish I could ride ms without the trims.

I've been in the park every day these first three days. Saturday morning trims were off with full trains and it was a great ride. Saturday night trims were on when I was the only one on the train (solo ride!) and it was just Mean Streak. I didn't ride it Sunday, and when I rode Monday in the afternoon they were on, but not grabbing very hard.

Does anyone know why it broke down twice on Sunday? What's up with that.

Cedar Point didn't think there was enough discussion on the coaster "geek" sites about Mean Streak so they purposely had it break down. The quota has now been attained, so it will now run "smoothly" until interest drops below a predetermined level once again.
