Opening Weekend Stapling?

OldCPer

Frankly, the tighter they push the lapbar down on Dragster, the better. I've been known to pull my lapbar down even further on MF.

Yeah, I would want to make sure im tightly secured when im holding my hands up plunging 400 feet down to earth especially with that spiral.

If anything the spiral would help to keep you in the train. I'm sure speeds of 120 MPH are pretty good for holdin' you in there aswell.

They could jump on my restraint on TTD for all I care. I get stapled in everytime, and I'm even trying to go tighter. I know ahead of time I'm not waiting in line to sit in a Lazy Boy chair, so I dont care if its not so comfortable. Thats the last thing thats on my mind when sitting there. Its not like you are sitting for an hour anyways. Same goes for MF.

Um..hours no, but I have been on plenty of shutdowns. Longest I sat in a train was 20min. I have no meat on my butt, and the seats are hardly comfortable after the first 5min.

I was in Millennium Force for an hour for a Discovery Channel thing. I loved the rides, but ouch... not comfortable for long periods of time.

A question I have is would it be worthwhile for CP to change the Straight T-bar on MF to the curved T-bar like Dragsters?

Now we all know Intamin would not pay for it, CP would most likely have to. Also if that were to happen would it require just a modification to the existing trains? Or would 3 entire newly designed trains be needed to change the T-bar design? I don't know.

It wouldn't just be the bar, the seat would need to be replaced as well. It's deepness and relative position to the bar are part of the overall design.

Ah I see. Then if (and that's a big if) it would happen it would be an offseason thing. Personally I would rather see the curved T-bar and new seats on MF because they are alot more comfortable.

I rode TTD last summer in August (I was 13) and had no issues with stapling. I put the bar down normally and pulled the seat belt the they just gave it a little nudge and pull to check it. On the issues of stapling though, the Blue Streak is horrible about the lapbars, mine was didn't go down all the way and the seat belt killed my stomach.

Like a lot of the previous posts suggested, they were already stapling last season and yesterday(5-8) was no different. I was thankful that they weren't using their shoes to do it unlike opening day last season. I noticed on my two rides yesterday more attention seemed to be placed on giving the belt a really good yank with both hands versus the hardcore lap bar staple.

Glad to hear the focus is on the seat belt. I hate to get pinched by the T bar and agree that the Dragster seats are by far the most comfortable. I would love to see the Dragster trains (theming and all) on our RoS at SFNE. That would be the perfect solution IMO.

Thats cool, I know they really only pushed my lap bar and not really my seat belt (i pulled very tightly my self). They used there feet to staple last year!!?? WOW!

shorty

Yeah Richie, more cheese-on-a-stick! That's the solution to adding some weight....in your arteries. I only had 2 today, not in shape yet :)
