media day

i dont mean to start a new thread about this but is saturday, may 8 media day or is that the first day anyone can go into the park?

Open to the public.. There is no media day this year as there is no new ride to have a media day for.

is it usually really busy on opening day?

Opening day can be pretty packed. However, there isn't a new ride this year, so it might not be as heavy as previous years. Of course, no one can actually tell you what it is going to be like since it always varies from year to year.

Yeah and if I remember right it really wasn't THAT busy last year even with Dragster opening.

Compared to what? A week day in May yes the park will seem PACKED on "Opening Day". When compared to the full season I am willing to bet Opening Day isn't even in the TOP 50 crowd days of the season, probably not even in the Top 60. And this is with or without a "new attraction".

You are "right" when you state no one is sure what the crowd will actually be, but based on past history CP has a pretty good idea. While all the rides will be running on Opening Day VERY FEW will be running FULL Capacity, ie: all the trains on a coaster, or car ride etc. Alos, check out the lines, there will be few if any (Maybe TTD, and MF) full queues on Opening Day.

Go enjoy opening day, Most people don't even realize CP is open that early in the season.

See you on the midway, even on Opening Day.

I do have to wonder if it will be a little busier because it is on a Saturday this year, but still, like it's always been said, you never know.

I'm looking forward to not waiting 5 hours to ride TTD on opening day. That was a long wait last year, but worth it of course.

Season pass holders will typically outnumber guests with tickets prior to the opening of the gates.

Actually there probably WILL be a media day this year.

OK. Let's think about this. *If* there will be a Media Day *this year*, you've got til December 31 to have it--WELL after Closing Day, if they choose.

What on Earth would they announce at the close of the season that would warrant MF treatment?

I just gave myself goosebumps.

If I had to make a logical guess it would be Castaway Bay, scheduled to open in November. However I don't know if Castaway Bay is something to plan a media day for or not.

Castaway Bay has already been announced. Could CP be adding yet ANOTHER major ride? One that takes more than an Off Season to build? Stay tuned.
