Ok, I understand this as that Mantis was annouced as "banshee" but then 4 days later they renamed it to Mantis. My question is dose anybody have any pictures of the logo or know what the slogan was etc. from when it was first released.

It was a "press release" so everyone saw it, they did not change the name until a few days/weeks/months later.

Doesn't it seem that Walt has anything that you could think of that you would want to see on Cedar Point? ;)

Same here, rogue. As season pass holders, we recieved some early info in the mail, and I tossed most of it.

I think I've heard bits and pieces before, but why did they change the name from Banshee to Mantis? IMO Banshee seems like a better name.

In the Mantis info. that Walt linked to it says that the first hill trim isn't used anymore, which isn't true on most days. I don't remember the first year or two of Mantis as I had no particular interest in coasters at that time, but was the trim used more than it is now or is this just an error in the article?

Here is a pic of what the sign was supposed to look like, now they have the ugly one with the mantis on it, this one looks so much cooler. http://www.coastergallery.com/2000/dorney26.html

It is now used for steel force.

I know this topic has been dead for a very long time. I searched and found this and didn't want to have to start a new topic. Does anyone know what the color scheme was supposed to be for Banshee, I'm curious?

There was no change to the color scheme of the ride, IIRC. Just the logo and name.

I think it's kind of fun that the old font from Banshee is being used in Castaway Bay...

Maybe it will be haunted, and visited by the ghost of the Banshee...oooOOOOoooo That statement seems a little redundant, but oh well.
