Season Passes

The last time we were at Cedar Point, which was a couple or three years ago (year Mantis went in, can't recall which year), we ran into a fellow parkgoer at a Sandusky restaurant. We got to talking, and he mentioned something to the effect that season passes for any Cedar Fair park were good at CP. I wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or had simply ridden one too many rides for the day, but I imagine one of you folks knows the truth behind it.

I live in Kansas City, so Worlds of Fun is just a short drive away. And we're planning at least two trips to CP this summer, plus we'll probably hit WoF multiple times when we get bored, so if there's truth to this deal, we can save a ludicrous amount of money going this route, since WoF season passes are only $65. It almost doesn't seem fair to CF, which is why I question the validity, but if there's truth to it, we definitely want to take advantage!

So is it true? And if so, is there anything special I should know when I get to CP and try to get in with it?

This is true! Simply take your pass to Guest Services, fill out a form and your in.

I have a question. This is our first year with season passes. How long do you expect us to wait to get our season passes processed if we go on a weekday, the week after it opens. We'd be going really early, before the park opened for the day too. I know, we should have gone earlier, as Ive seen the lines at other parks, but how bad is it for CP?

Yes your season pass is good at any Cedar Fair park. But now my question is.....Why do you have to fill out a form at CP if your season pass is from another Cedar Fair park?? With a season pass from Six Flags, we just walk up to the line and walk in any six flags without filling out a from of any kind! Why is the form nessecary??

As far as how long of a wait to get your season passes done, I would say expect at least an hour, I myself have not got my season pass for Cp done yet, but I know at Six Flags, we waited about an hour in a half to get it processed.

It can get bad becuase there are only four(?) cameras and CP uses a real photo instead of a computer image like Six Flags does. This slows the line up and you do have to wait a little bit to receive your pass. I really can't give you a number but if you are there early it should not be bad.

The form in needed to cut down in fraud becuase CF parks actually scan the passes so they have to give you a ticket to get into the park. A person could just keep going into guest services and talk to a diffrent person and get alot of free tickets. The form prevents this becuase the guest services person could then check to see if you have used the pass that day. Six Flags does not need to do this becuase all you have to do is flash the pass so this is not a problem.

But if they scan the pass wouldnt that tell if you been into the park that day or not? Seems to me if the elimintated the ticket once you show your pass, that would elimintate the form to fill out! Your pic is on the pass plain as day and you cant let someone else use your season pass its to hard unless you have a look alike. So eliminate the ticket and that would solve it, correct?

Well, does the pass center open up before the park does??? I want to have my pass done before the park opens that day, so I can get in on MF. Is that possible??

The "form" takes about five seconds to fill out. All you do is sign your name, circle the park where you got the card (Dorney, Knott's, etc.) and write down your card #. Quick and easy (at least at the Soak City gate). My wife and I have done this the past two years - this year will be the first time we have CP passes instead of one of the other CF parks.

The pass center is open fron 12:00PM to 7:00PM I believe. We got our passes processed last Friday May 28th. I thought the process was quick. Probably would have different thoughts about this on opening day. CP website has this info ;)

Tohot2se, The pass will not scan at the other park gates so this will not work so you have to use the ticket. The problem is not with someone else using the pass to get the ticket it is that a pass-holder could go to guest services twice and get two tickets and give one to someone else.
