Does anyone know if there will be any track-work done this off-season on Magnum XL 200 since it will be painted?

You mean except for the yearly jacking-up of the track sections which have sunk over the summer?

Cedar Point does that every year anyway. Not like a little thing paiting is going to change that. :-)

When Paramount's Kings Island repainted Vortex they apparently did some track-work as well, which really helped to smooth out the ride. I was wondering if Cedar Point would take a page out of PKI's book and do some major rehab while painting. Which brings up another question, is this the first time Magnum has been re-painted?

Yes.. this will be the first time it's been painted since it was installed.

(with the exception of the painting that took place during the re-profile)

Magnum, in my book, is still a wild ride... It'd be good if they smoothed it out, but it makes it an intense ride with all the shaking and such, you don't think your body will survive, and then you go into the station, and you're like, "I'm ok... LET'S DO THAT AGAIN!!!"

It's a great ride, even though its record breaking days are over, it still can give a thrill of a lifetime.

I think Magnum's ride gets a bad rap. It's not any more rough than any other Arrow minetrain that size.

magnum's ok, I guess, ;) Then again it flies higher than Raptor, is more fun than MF and lasts longer than Dragster, so yeah its my favorite.

Dan - It would be cool (actually, an honor) if I could ride the Magnum with you sometime. I made an even dozen last season, starting in early July. It is an amazingly addictive ride, and coupled with the fact that I am rediscovering roller coasters after 20 years, and conquering my fears at the same time makes it that much more fun.

It would be an honor for ANYONE to ride Magnum with Dan...

Can I have your autograph Dan?????? lol

Actually, it's more fun to ride alone. Don't ask me why, it just is...

Yeah Dan, I'm looking foreward to getting back "home" as well. Hopefully there won't be a certain somebody on the platform all summer long...
