Monopoly

I was just wondering if anyone else thinks Cedar Point is starting to monopolize Sandusky

No, but I like the CP monopoly game.

BestBuy is being built right on 250. I'm sure CP had nothing to do with building that.

What are they gonna do? Buy the water company and electric company? Gee I hope I don't land on luxury tax. You can't monopolize a city, especailly with an amusement park... come on. If you noticed the park is only open 5 months out of the year. Cedar Point controls nothing outside of their property, I wish common sense was more widespread.

Half of the town needs to be bulldozed! I do find the historic part of downtown to be awesome. It still looks like it did 32 years ago on my first trip to CP. I just hate going through the bad part of town (between downtown and the causeway). I would say CP has a monopoly when it comes to amusement parks in Sandusky. ;)

And Cedar Point helped to put Sandusky on the map. Without C.P., Sandusky isn't much of a tourist draw.

My point was that "monopolize" means to take full control. Cedar Point does not have full control of Sandusky. If they did there would be no ridiculous parking tax.

I don't think CP is a monopoly but it does have a huge deal to do with the tourism Sandusky gets.

You could technically argue that Cedar Point is a natural monoply. But then again, the majority of amusement parks are.

As for the park "monopolizing" the city...I agree that you need to do some research on just what a monopoly is.
