Parking Question

Does anyone have any info regarding parking on the Mean Streak side of the park for faster access to the TTD? I called the CP office and they said that anyone can park over there and use that enterance, even if they are using another Cedar Fair park Season Pass but I'd like some opinions on if this is a good or bad idea.

Thanks!

When you take the causeway go to the far left lane to go by the toll booth, it'll be for the marina, soak city, challange park and resorts. That will take you past the marina, blue streak, wildcat, millennium force, then past mean streak, before you get to magnum there is a small parking lot on the right, park in there. It is the lot that is to the left when you are gemini's lift hill.

EDIT: after you park go across the street, there is a walkway that takes you to the magnum entrance

Thank you for the info. Would you recommend this over parking in the regular lot?

It all depends on what you want to accomplish. I regularly park in both lots, depending on my mood and what I want do in the park.

Well, if you are trying to get on the first train out of dragster and you have a Joe Cool Club cedar point season pass, then yes, but get there a little before ERT or you will have a long line of resort guests who all have ERT. if you aren't useing JCC ERT, and the main lot isn't packed then honestly, not really. you'll have a little longer walk to dragster, but the line will already be a a pretty good size by the time the park opens to standard seaon pass holders (which is what you are if you have another cedar fair seaon pass) and people with funday passes.

The fact that resort guests also get in early now, the "competitive" advantage of getting there early and entering through that gate is pretty much gone. I park there just because it's more central to the park, and I don't spend a lot of time in the front half of the park.

We have used the back lot all this year, and even if TTD wasn't there, we would still enter that way every visit.

Also, make sure you don't waste time by standing in the wrong line! We have found that you should be pro-active when getting in line for JCC ERT at the SC gate. Everytime we arrive at the back gate, there is one jumbled line of JCC and Resort folks, until just before they open, when an employee will come out and sort the lines. I wish they would indicate to some extent the respective lines for the people waiting to enter. (Or are we just missing it somewhere?)

I've always liked parking back there. Even before TTD was there we used to always park back there to get to Maggie faster. It's also usualy easier to get out after the park closes and there is a little shade if you park next to Gemini.

The only time I've used the main gate this season has been for Coastermania. Every other visit I've entered and exited through the Resorts Gate (aka Magnum Gate, aka Soak City Gate).

It's closer to my favorite rides.

Incline looper...I was going to post that it's HARDER to get out of the SC lot when thepark closes. It took us 30 minutes of waiting in traffic just to get to the causeway on Saturday the 6th when the park closed at 8 pm. The parking attendants were letting the main lot filter out in front of us in two lines...one near the front of the main lot, and another line in the back of the main lot. Those of us on Perimeter Road were held up for 15 minutes at each section.

I'll agree with that. If I'm leaving with the bulk of the traffic, I find it harder to get out of the Soak City lot (which has one exit) than out of the main lot. You don't have to worry about Perimeter Road and with a little experience, it's easy to get out of the main lot quickly.

Grue,

I too, have noticed that there is no "sorting" of JCC members and resort guests. My brother and I just "hang out" by the entrance, and wait for the lines to start moving, and then jump into the season pass line (which is usually empty).

There actually IS sorting. There is a separate line for JCC at the Magnum/Reseorts gate to the right of the main line. In front, they have a special gate for JCC, and the one and only time I went to the Marina Gate, they had a separate line as well.

Just go to the front and ask
