I need trip tips

I'm headed there tomorrow morning, and though I have been there hundreds of times if not thousand +, I've never been there when the park opens. So I just wanted to know when I should try to get there to get a good parking spot and avoid having to wait in the back of the entrance line?

What time does the parking lot open anyway, I live about an hour drive away but don't want to get there to early.

I just went there monday coming from Flint and I got there at like 8:30am. That was about a half hour earlier then I expected to get there but it turned out to be the best because I got guided to a parking spot that was more toward the front half of the lot so I'd recommed getting there around that time. Unless of course you'd like to walk a long ways to get to your car as if all that walking in the park wasn't enough..i wouldn't think you would!
