Queue Techno

I don't know if anyone else noticed the music in the queue for MF, but I was thrilled with the upbeat techno they had playing. If they have this kind of music going all the time, I wouldn't miss a DJ. It goes with the ride's loose theme, and is nice to listen to. What did you guys think about it?

I though some of the rehashed tunes were pretty cool. Others...... well, not too cool. I don't particularly care for techno. I'd like to hear more of the new "rap-rock fusion" stuff, personally.

I noticed they played Perfect Day while in the queue for MF. Had flash backs to the Virtual Midway movie :)

I like the techno music, but I really like the new subwoofers.

The Techno is great! My "Club" friends and I were walking through Snoopyland and heard several Techno songs, while everywhere else was playing "Older music". We weren't in line long enough to hear any for Millenium Force, Free-ways are great!

My wife and I were trying to decide what was weirder, the dance version of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer, or the remakes of some of the other obscure 80's songs with a bland female singing voice.

The music was better than the 80's hair metal being piped into the Magnum and Raptor queues though.

They should just have a DJ taking requests like last year.

Heh, of the 8 times I went last year, the same guy was DJ on MF and he refused to take requests. He also played the exact same songs (MoTown) instead of mixing it up...I'd rather take the guy who head bobbed to Britney Spears the year before over him. lol

A DJ should take requests, because he is there for the guests in line, not for his personal amusement. But perhaps CP dictates a playlist that is only to be played, then it is out of the DJ's hands.

Yes this is very true, but as a fellow DJ, in my experience, taking requests can sometimes be more hastle then what it should be. Also, a DJ does not always play for his own personal enjoyment (at least not a good DJ) Rather, a good DJ is able to read his crowd and play songs accordingly. And if I recollect corectly, CP does have strict rules on what can and cannot be played, being as it is a family oriented park.

When you found the techno music for the queue line, what did you search for in Kazaa to find it? Or, who is the artist who made it?

Are you talking about dj Dan CP Bound? About the music, I guess I'm a minority here but I wasn't too impressed with it.

As for people asking if the DJ's are coming back.. a 3 second search of cedarpoint.com revealed this information..

From www.cedarpoint.com

Look for our Jammin’ DJ’s at Raptor, Magnum and Millenium Force queue lines. They’ll show you a good time while spinning some of your favorite hits. (Music requests must be suitable for the park’s family-atmosphere.)

June 14 – Aug. 24

As every year before.. they don't start till June..
