Train Tunnel (not)

Has anyone else noticed that the tunnel that was mentioned as a train tunnel is not over the train tracks. Look at the new photos and it almost looks like this will possibly be a pedestrian tunnel, it looks like there are walls from the MF tunnels back to the other tunnel. There is currently no tunnel over the train tracks.

It's my understanding that there won't be a tunnel for the train. Something about hot debris coming from the engine.

Although they tried to explain to me what they planned to do, it still begs the question, what about that hot debris and the ride with passengers?

At first, I thought this was a pedestrian tunnel too, and that the fascads were fake frontier building fronts that lead to the MF tunnels, but now I'm puzzled becuase the trail seems to dead end at the MF tunnels...is the building looking thing a pedestrian tunnel or is it just a building on frontier trail? if it is a building, it looks like the trail will vear way off course to go around the coaster...

Yeah it does seem a bit more than the previously quoted 40 ft., but I don't think that's a biggie. IMHO it will add a little bit more charm to Frontier Trail as long as the rock facing and pedestrian tunnels are finished right. A nice touch on the tunnel would be fashioning it after a mine shaft. As far as the absence of a train tunnel, I'm sure CP thought this one out carefully. Regarding "spewing debris" form the smoke stack, the MF trains will be moving very quickly, the total times when a train and an MF train meet will be less than often. Some sort of simple canvas or partition screen mounted above the train tracks would probably be sufficient. I'm sure that was already planned assuming the same position on coverings where pedestrian walk ways go under rides in the rest of the park.

I think it would be pretty cool if the train went through right before the MF trains flew by, because it would be like fog. So it would suprise you one the way up not knowing where you're going.

That wall is where the tunnels will merge. The trail will be widened. Keep in mind that the tunnels are not done in that picture. That picture was not posted right away. *** This post was edited by Magnum is sinking! on 4/18/2000. ***

You wouldn't be hacking your brains out because there would be less than a second when you are in that area.

Interestingly enough, the Getaway Guide's map shows there being a tunnel where the train would cross under MF.

It seems there is a train tunnel. It's the brown boxy thing below MF's track as it exits and enters the tunnels.

That's the pedestrian tunnel. I have been assured that there will not be a tunnel for the train.

I'm not sure I'd enjoy a "fog" composed of hot smoke, cinders, and ash from the stack of a steam engine. Even for only a second.

Hot debris never stopped trains entering tunnels before. I guess it might cause a bit of problem with the open cars but I been on steam trains that went through tunnels a whole lot longer then what would be needed to go under MF.

The train passes under the Mantis track. There's no problem with that.

Matt the Mantis track is like 2 feet wide, does not surround the train.
