can we reminisce about VertiGo?

does anyone else miss this great ride a lot? would you still ride it if they hadn't taken it out? any crazy stories on your first ride, who persuaded you to do it, etc.?

I'd straight out ask Rob... But the best explanations need to be done in person.... and with beer.

The ride was boring and pointless. Did nothing for me.

I have to agree with Jeff. I had myself all worked up over that ride and then when I rode it, it just didn't do it for me. It was ok but if it was still there, I wouldn't pay to ride it again.

Not only was the ride boring and pointless, it also was way too complicated, required too many people to operate, and took too long to load and unload.

S&S's new version seems even stupider, although the stupidest thing about the original version has sort-of been fixed.

I personally did not find the ride 'boring and pointless.' I can ride any coaster that is built, but something about veritgo really really scared me. I think it was the fact that I didn't feel safe in the restraints... Who knows! Anyway, I rode it twice and was scared to death on the way back down both times... (probably has something to do with the fact I went down face first both times. :-P

Well, I can tell you VertiGo is no longer sitting in the parking lot that it has occupied for a year and a half. Last Friday I saw them loading the last remaining steel column onto a flatbed truck. The ride car was still there, but I would assume that's gone by now too.

I wonder what Rob is going to do when he comes here and sees all of you guys ragging on his ride...:)

I never got a chance to ride it because the one day I went after it was built, it was down for high winds.

actually jeff only 2/3 of one tower fell down then they removed the othe 1/3 of that tower, they then removed the other two towers and air compressor pumps that powered the ride. so actually they removed it. it didnt just "fall down"
