Opening Day

Is there any way for me/ anyone to find out if TTD will be operating on opening day? I understand that we will not know for 2 months yet, I would hate to drive 3 hours and be disappointed with the outcome. I just thought perhaps CP would have it on the website or if a special # to call for operation information.

CP hasn't missed an opening day dedline yet, they won't start with TTD. You'll be able to ride it with me and the rest of the world on May 4th (its the 4th, right?)

You could at least try looking around before posting. There is a phone number at the bottom of the official site.

All of their coasters have, in fact, been operational for opening day.

They did miss the first day of the season with Chaos back in 1997 though...but that was the fault of the manufacturer and not CP.

You could at least read my post before trying to act pompus. I asked for a specific number regarding the ride operation, not the general CP number. I was hoping that CP would release the info on some type of computer voice-mail so that the general information phone number would not be receiving hunderds of calls about something that a voice-mail can handle.

Thanks "Bryan" for all your "help".

Cedar Point has already announced that Top Thrill Dragster will open on May 4. Why do they need a special phone number or web site?

The parking lots are not open at all hours, though I forget exactly what those hours are. So no, you can't camp out in the lot overnight. I would assume that the same is true of the causeway, since I bet one cannot park there.

If you are hellbent on sleeping nearby on the cheap, you could try sleeping in your car in a rest stop, though I don't recommend it.

If you stay in your car, how about the McDonalds on the causeway? :)

If you REALLY want to stay in a parking lot overnight, you could probably park in either the Soak City parking lot, or the Gemini lot. That's where people from the hotel's and some workers park, so it's technically open 24 hours. However, CP parking may be looking in cars for people, so it's pretty much up to your discretion. If you get caught, they will probably kick you out of the lot. I would just get a cheap hotel room near the causeway. There are a lot of cheap hotel websites out there, so you can look around.
