Launch

Exactly How intense will the Launch be. I'm not worried at all about the tall-ness, and the drop. I've been on Rockin Roller Coaster( AeroSmith ) and MGM. and that is 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. That is very very intense. How intense will this launch be?

More intense than Rock n Roller Coaster...

Assuming the acceleration of the launch is constant (a semi-reasonable assumption) you'll be pulling about 1.4Gs. Not as intense as everyone is leading themselves to believe.

No, but seeing everything flying by at 120 has got to be at least more intense than usual.

Why? "Intensity" doesn't depend on speed, unless there is a change in direction involved.

30mph/s/s. Unless it changes or whatever.

I just get shivers when I look at the picture of the launch track that is covered with snow, on the official site. It shows just how far away the tower in from the starting point, and depicts how insane the launch is going to be traveling that distance in 4 seconds.

Xcelerator is 36mph/s/s (the proper units btw). Why the hell did they tone down the launch!!! I'm very intrested into just how far away "under 4 seconds" is from 4 seconds. They should have done it 0-120 in 157 feet of track (about 1.6 seconds), like Xcelerator tested at a few times. Give the Japanese and S&S a kick in tha @$$.

That would be a bit much, IMO, speedy. The 0-80 in 1.8 on Hypersonic XLC is amazingly intense. Going 40mph in less time would be too much. I already felt like my heart was compressing into my chest on XLC....trust me, the 120mph wind will get your adrenaline pumping, even if the launch acceleration is less than some other rides.

Well, for such a minute mistake, it would have vast consequences. Just like the mishap with the conversion of inches to centimeters on that Mars probe...or lack there of.

How many g's does Wicked Twister pull? I love its launch, gives me sort of a 0g feeling with no strong g's on launch.

I'm not sure how fast the launch is, but I know it launches to 50 mph... if it went 0-50 in 3.5 seconds (sounds kinda familiar to me), it would only pull 0.65 g, assuming constant acceleration.

Can someone figure what the G's that should be on Xcellerator's launch if it is constant by using the same method that someone used for Dragsters launch. I don't know how to do it. I heard that Xcellerator pulls 2 G's (not sure) on it's launch. If it ends up being less than 2 G's, that means the launch is not constant and will probably be the same for Dragster.

I can't really explain it I guess. Its just not a glued to your seat, high g launch which I don't like as much.

If the acceleration was constant, Xcelerator's launch would pull 1.63 g.
