Coaster Types CP SHOULD Get!

MillenniumMan_2000

So, what are your ideas? I personally think a floorless coaster, or any type of a dueling coaster.

I would LOVE to see a dueling coaster(cough inverted cough cough). But a floorless coaster would be cool. I also would LOve to see a flying coaster or thirst air.

Just remember that Paramount has the exclusive rights to The Flying Dutchman. Expect all the other Paramount parks to get it before any other park gets it. Anyway - CP isn't fond of prototype's..atleast in my oppinion.

Well seeing as CP tends to try to break records (Millennium Force, Power Tower, Mantis, Raptor, Magnum) I'd say the next coaster would be a record breaker too. Prehaps most inversions on one coaster. That's where I'd stick my money. CP is lacking in the inversion department and while it's not necessarily my forte, there are people who seem to judge a coaster by inversions...kind of the same way people judge coasters by height. My guess would be a coaster with 9 or 10 inversions...a big jumbled mess of steel that's confusing and terrifying to look at.

Then again, what do I know?

I vote for a wooden coaster.

"CP is lacking in the inversion department"

They have three coasters with inversions of three different types. They only have two wood coasters and one hybrid - yes, I know Gemini is a steel coaster but the structure has the beauty of a woodie.

thanks millrace. A good ond fashioned wooden one. Baybe like the Lightning Racer at Hersheypark. Have you seen the open car trains?!! Those look pretty sweet!

"They have three coasters with inversions of three different types."

Yeah but one of those three is almost 25 years old. The other two are a stand-up and an inverted. How about a modern sitdown multi-looper? Floorless cars optional. Cedar point has 13 inversions in the park total. There are 15 parks that have an equal or greater number of inversions in their parks and another 12 parks that could build a modest multi-looper and reach that number. It's the one area the point tends to overlook in favor of speed and height. I happen to prefer the speed and height but it's something that certain coaster fans like and although I don't necessarily agree with that philosophy, it'd be nice to see something that would just disorient and confuse.

It's been many, many years since CP built a major ride that didn't break some sort of record. While a woody would be nice (I do actually agree), it just doesn't seem like it'd fit in with their way of hyping the new. Maybe a dueling woody in the vein of Gwazi. Simply make it the biggest wooden dueler. That'd solve the problem, I guess. *** This post was edited by lordgonchar on 4/7/2000. ***

An inverted looping standup. Thats all I need to say.

What about the largest indoor steel dueling coaster in the world. Although I'm not sure where the heck they would put it and they would probably have to come up with some sort of theme for this one. You just know they will eventually build something greater than MF. How about something underground or over the lake. Alright, I'm starting to get carried away.

I agree w/lordgonchar...I think the Corkscrew is a good coaster, but compare to the sitting multi coasters of today, it just doesnt cut it. What they need next is either a floorless or a Kumba/Hulk style ride. I think they should wait on a new wooden coaster. All they need to do with the Mean Streak is reprofile the WHOLE coaster including trains, because when this coaster first debuted I was in love with it, now, Im trying to figure out which seat wont jerk me the most, anyways, they need a good sitdown looper!

How about a dueling wooden floorless?(Just an idea)

They need a good woodie, they are leaning toward steel to much, at least that is how I feel.

Good call Cedar Creek Mine Ride...I think we'll see a floorless and a woodie in the near future to try an outdo their Ohio neighbors.

Tear down the Mean Streak and put in a roller coaster!

I had a wierd dream last night. I was riding a suspended-standup coaster! Is that possiable? If it is, I could sell that idea to B&M or Arrow etc. to make lots of $$!

I think B&M or Arrow has already thought of that and might be designing it now.

Standup is overrated if you ask me....The only thing I gain from standing up is a big fat pain in the legs. (Oh but I can't forget about the ocassional airtime you get on Mantis when the car flings you suddenly. That rocks!)

FunPhantom

I don't know about an inverted standup, because inverted coasters tend to have lots of positive g forces that really arent that comfy standing up. just a thought. I would really like to see either a flying or thrustair coaster, a good woodie would be nice too, if any of these came next i would be happy, even though the multi-looper sounds more like what cedar point would probably do next. As for now, im happy with Mellenium Force.
