it's the feeling of being in another world, cut off, in a way, from the rest of civilization. it's the fact that you have everything you need in one place..food, lodging, great rides, awesome scenery, and this great sense of history. everything just fits together perfectly to create this total experience. even Magnum feels like it's been there since day one. and Fascination all lit up at night, the arcade with the REALLY old video games, the great amusement park food that is so much better than others... that's what keeps me coming back every year..the TOTAL CP EXPERIENCE that is generated by all of these things and more.

servo makes an excellent point--the isolation due to its presence on the peninsula truly makes Cedar Point seem like a faraway place and contributes most of all to the uniqueness of it--much like the effect that Walt Disney created in Florida with Walt Disney World. Inside the park proper, I'd say it's all about the games area (especially with Fascination as its "crown jewel"), the Giant Wheel (in any location!), Mama Berardi's (sp?) fries (though they're not called that anymore), and all the tracked car rides.

You can go on big fast roller coasters at most all parks, but the thing that makes cp stand out from all the others are the wonderful memories I have from my trips to the Point.

I think the blue streak, wildcat and kiddie kindom are cedar point then & now.

Extreme variety. Many amusement parks only have a limited selection of attractions, and when they get new ones, the usually tear down the old ones, but not CP! The whole unique penninsula thing is the best atmosphere for an amusement park too!

This may be just the opinion of a "lifer" but the guests and the employees make CP...if we didn't have either we wouldn't have a park!

The isolation of Cedar Point. When you are there your feel as if nothing could go wrong. No one thing makes Cedar Point the entire park makes it the best Amusement Park in the country if not the world.

yeah! Disney feared his guests would see out of his magical world if he put the parking lot right next to his park...that's why he isolated it from everything else when he built the magic kingdom.

Cedar Point has a natural isolation surrounded by nothing but a beautiful lake...

I havent been there yet(until June arrives) and the fact that its on a peninsula makes it what it is. The idea of pulling up in your boat,pontoon,jetski,canoo,paddle boat,sailboat, heck even swimming in (if you are crazy enough to do that) just makes CP seem like a unique adventure.

When you drive out on the causeway to Cedar Point you may as well be in the Florida Keys. Thats the type of island atmosphere that takes over. All other amusement parks are just rides in the middle of a field. Nothing can touch the escapism of the point.

Thats good to hear thanatos but I dont think it will be the same. The Florida keys are a whole different experienc(been there, done that).

What makes cp what it is? Its all of you lunatics that are willing to the first to be in the park everyday evry season. But its cool that you guys do that. You don't know how good it feels to see a guest fly through the gate at opening time when I've been working since 730 to have my stand open for you guys!!!!! It makes my day so much better :)

I would have to say the fact that its on a penninsula too. It gives it a more secluded feeling.

I'd say the greatest collection of thrill rides in the world!
