Alternate themes for Rocket Coasters

I think that this type of ride would be cool if the vehicles were fighter jet themed with wings and tail fins. Would look cool from the ground. Might be clearance issues with tower however. Other theme ideas?

I think it should be Barbie themed. One train could be Barbie, and another one Ken, and the other one Stacey!

I agree with the fighter theme 100%. In fact I think a great name for the coaster would be " MAVERICK" Let me explain. Definitions : 1. An independent individual who does not go along with a group or party. This definitely appears to be a unique coaster that goes beyond boundaries. 2. Maverick is a young, high energy, restless, scareless, speedy and dangerous animal or person. I think that definition says it all !!! Positives to this name: Since the ride looks like it is going to be L-TH-TW-B it simulates blasting off an aircraft carrier with a vertical climb through the clouds and back down to a sudden landing and stop back on the carrier.("TOP GUN" Tom Cruise aka MAVERICK) The name also fits nicely with the names of the other newer mega coasters at Cedar Point all beginning with the letter "M" Millennium Force Magnum XL-200 Mean Streak Mantis Maverick ? "I feel the need for speed !!" This will be a popular phrase while standing in line for this ride regardless of what they name it.

A popular phrase to which I will groan and roll my eyes, every time some fool mentions it and thinks they're original.

What's "scareless"?

As long as they don't name it something like "Scream" I'll be happy.

Hey, Mav, do you have the number of that truck driving school, you know the one - Oh, sorry, wrong movie. I think you forgot the Mraptor, Mgemini and the MironDragon. But I think you're on to something. Do you think Tom Cruise would come to CP to christen #16?

Not considering the fact that Top Gun is already a ride at more than one Paramount Parks.

“scareless” – someone or something that doesn’t scare.

Who said anything about naming it Top Gun? Did Tom Cruise invent the name maverick? He played a character in a movie which I think best describes the character of this coaster. I think it will be the closest feeling most of us will have to launching off an aircraft carrier straight up through the clouds down into a negative g drive with a possible twist slowing down quickly to a stop- just like landing on the carrier. Unless there are more elements that we haven’t seen, this will best describe it for me.

Hey jdubya, sorry goose, hey wait a minute - you were right that is the right movie! LOL!! I don’t know if he’ll show up, but I think whoever doesn’t show up to ride this coaster will miss one heck of a ride.I can’t wait!

Hey, I'm showing up, too. "Maverick" would be a neat name, but I think CP is probably going to give it a name with more dynamics to it. Whatever the name turns out to be, just the sound of it is going to imply speed, and lots of it. Unfortunately, "Maverick" doesn't do it. Sorry, Mav. Maybe next time. But come next May, it'll be time to buzz the tower!!! :-))

I think they should name it "mc²", and in "E=" :)

Cedar Point likes to have rollercoasters with compound words - Millenium Force, Blue Streak, Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Wicked Twister, etc. So let me suggest that this one will be simply called RECORD ATTENDANCE.

RECORD ATTENDANCE

I sure wouldn't want to have to come up with a logo for that one.

I hope you get a dictionary for Christmas. Try 'fearless'. You'll at least appear to have a grasp of the English language at first.

I sure hope the first time I ride #16, the seats are 'wetless'-someone or something that isn't wet.

Gravity, let it go. I'm sorry you blew a gasket because this word did not compute in your dictionary. However the word is often used - an example, -to describe a bad horror movie that did not scare you, is described as a scareless movie. Would you call the movie fearless? I didn't make up the word but I promise I will never, never, never use the word again. Sorry!!

Gravity: down to earth, without the sugar coating.

More like Antigravity. Head in the clouds. with a stick up his rear.

Loosten up dude. Seriously i think you attack people more than anyone i've ever seen. Just count to ten. Take a few deep breaths and RELAX. It seems that every time i see a post that goes out of its way, and way off topic for that matter. I see your name and slogan. I mean its all great and all but please. Give me something to hold onto here. Please post some quality stuff without bashing people and ill stop shaking my head every time i see your name.

Now i know that on here it is considered "uncouth" if you will to yell at someone who has been posting here for over a year, seeing that i joined this forum about 4 months ago, but please something needed to be said. Just settle down and next time someone makes a HUMAN MISTAKE cuz were all not walking dictionaries like yourself sir, just sit back and do what i do when i see idiocy. Shake your head and leave it lie.

Sorry about the b*ing guys but i just needed to vent.

*END VENT*

HAPPY COASTER RIDING TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD FLIGHT!
