Disastor Transport ride review.

I'm not trying to bore you guys about the ride, but I was just wondering if any of you guys could tell me about the line area and ride when
it opened in 1990. E-mail me or post it here if you wish. Thanks!

It was REAL long. You went in two big waiting rooms.

Weren't they using all three rooms back then? The first room with the black-lights making anything white that you were wearing glow. The second room with "Dave" the robot acting as the 'dispatch master'. And the third room as the cargo loading area with the overhead baskets of cargo slowly moving around the room. And also with the voice of a foreman coming out of a loudspeaker every now and then complaining about something.

Okay: Year: 1990.
Temperature: 85 degrees. No clouds:

Line: 1 hour outside the building.

We get to door of building and see a sign that said "75 minutes from this point." That's about how much I liked the ride. Something about first impressions...

The third room was okay, I kind of miss it. At least it's projector was cool.

There were/are three rooms, orignial intentions were to keep you in each for approx. 15 mins (keeping up with loading and unloading).
Room 1: You entered a futuristic airport waiting area, destined for a trip to Alaska. In this area, we were entertained by steward(esses) telling us not to worry, everything was under control. Unfortunately, the airport is having difficulties and regular passenger "traffic" is diverted through the Control room.
Room 2: The control room, where we get to see "reports," visuals from incoming or outgoing ships (which are under alien fire). This was actually a video projected amidst computer equipment and a robot (DAVE).
Room 3: We were again diverted through the repair bay, where we got to look in on a "manager" robot (who is still hanging, just doesn't move) who is moaning about the lack of iniative of the smaller ones working on a shuttle. Most of this room is still intact, just not running.
Oh yeah, almost forgot about the TVs in the stairwell, where you could watch the "talent" read the "keep your hands..." spiel off of cue cards over and over. The TVs are gone, but the brackets are still there.

Except that DT has always been a slow line.
What's the official capacity on it again?

It can't be much higher than Wildcat.

Does anyone remember any "famous" sayings that either of the robots said? If I am annoying anyone with this feel free to E-mail me and I will be more than happy to explain.

The most memorable thing was when the robot that goes through the ride with you says "I'm losing control! I'm loosing control!"

But now that robot doesn't follow you anymore, you can just hear the voice.

He would follow you?

i remeber that one hallway that had pictures up on the walls that were illusions. i think they had boxes on them but it made it look like a large room. does anyone remeber what i'm talking about??????

Actually he stayed in front of you on some kind of suspended rail.

The robot in the third room is a "head", he hangs between the two "doors" that the space junk overhead enters and exits the room.

As for the robot that follows the trains, I do not remember that one...

Yeah, punk, that's the hallway between the first room and the control room. I remember being fooled by that once when I was 11 lol.

To me, the most entertaining part of Disaster Transport as a whole is when you're walking through the door to leave the repair bay and there's a sign above your head that says "Reject." We always like to check out if it's lit up and refer to my friend Dawn or my younger sister Lauren (depending on who's with my group at the time) if it is.

Ahhhh, juvenile humor. I will never get over this phase (at least I hope).
