What the employees know....

Gravity

I just got done talking with a good friend of mine who's working over at Power Tower. Here's what she had to say about everything they know about the new ride:

"it's great ... i have guests ask me what the new ride is going to be ... and i'll turn around ... look at it and casually reply ... "yellow"..."

My step-father came back from the point the other day all excited to tell me what the new coaster was going to be. (Yes, I live in my parents basement.)

Apparently he talked to an employee who "leaked" the information.

I felt bad when I had to tell him that all most employees know are the same rumors we have all heard.

Oh well...

One night when I was done with work and the park had already closed, I was walking out to my car in the Gemini lot and I had a girl physically running after me yelling "Hey! Wait! Can you tell me what the new thing is gonna be???" I was just like "Uhh, major new thrill ride for next year". Why does everyone assume we know..?

I'd always have fun with the people who asked. At the end of last season, I'd always get asked what we were building on the beach, so eventually I just started telling guests it was foundations for the worlds tallest bathrooms.

Hardly.

However, that yellow comment made my day.

I enjoyed working there during the Banshee/Mantis debacle. One weekend we were all wearing Banshee buttons and giving out Banshee shirts, the next day we were told not to say a word about Banshee.

I had guests ask me, "weren't you wearing a Banshee button yesterday?" I said, "I don't know what you are talking about"...with a wink of an eye.

What do we employee's know? not a whole lot actually considering they don't tell us anything. And even if we knew leaking it out to the public is cause for termination and loss of bonus so I don't really think any employee who is still working there is that stupid enough to post it on the internet especially where the managers are reading.

Jeez, you're like a fly- no matter how many times we swat at you, you will not go away. Maybe Jeff should get out the bug spray instead.

I've seen some examples of the Theory of Nobody, but whoa.

A name in nearly all caps, topics in all caps, posts that begged for somebody to just acknowledge he existed...you gotta feel something between pity and nausea. Oh, never mind--that was my stomach growling.

Look for an employee screaming, "NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME!!!!" at the top of his lungs, over and over again as he sweeps.

Yeah, I've been asked by many guests what is being built. I always reply, I don't know or a new thrill ride. I've heard all the rumors. To me they are just that rumors.
