has the tarp been removed

Has the blue tarp that was supposedly covering the third footer been removed and if so what was under it?

I was there yesterday and the tarp had not been removed. However, I don't think it was covering the third footer, because I'm pretty sure I saw all three footers uncovered. I was looking at the shape of the object under the tarp and it looked like there was something sticking straight up in the middle (above the "footer" part).

The tarp has been long gone.

I think this would be an excellent time for me to say "I told you so." I've been saying since opening day that there are THREE footers, but nobody ever believed me. So, there. Three footers.

Yes indeed, and all of a sudden these three magical footers which we've all obsessed over (myself very included) for the last 5 months seem so insignificant. I'd say we can save the tarp mystery for a time when we have far less to talk about.

A possible reason for the tarp could be that they wanted the concrete to set harder rather than faster. Concrete cures harder and slower when it is covered. the chemical reaction that occurs when concrete cureslets off heat. If you cover the concrete it will trap the heat from the concrete, thus etting it set much harder than if it is exposed.

But why that one footer instead of all three?

I dont know, remember that was just a theory. It had nothing to do with those footers ,it was just to give a possible explanation. That is commonly done in the construction industry, and not necessarly roller coaster construction.

I have not seen the footer being talked about, is it larger than the rest? Or maybe it is a major support. Was it poured before the other two. If so then maybe it is a major support footing that needed extra strength

Then maybe it will just simply hold more weight.

The back footer would be the one to hold more weight. Just look at the supports on it, they are a little bigger than the front 2, at least where they are connected. That was not the one with the tarp if I'm correct.
