Your First Pointbuzz Experience

I've been a member since 2006, and for the life of me I can't remember how I came across this site. Can anyone else recall how they came across it? What were your first impressions?

I'm too sexy for my harness!

I found this way back in 1999 (changed my username a few years into it) when it was still guidetothepoint.com. Millennium Force was just a "rumor" at the time. But, I remember the first pictures of track sitting behind the Mean Streak that Jeff posted and ever since, I've been a fan of this site. :)

I had come across Virtual Midway while just looking for stuff about Cedar Point. I lurked on GTTP for a while and didn't really start posting until after they merged into Pointbuzz.

I remember getting some great advice when I was planning my first opening day trip in 2003.

Goodbye MrScott

John

I joined for Maverick's construction. Pointbuzz had the best coverage of it and the most intelligent discussion on it, so I naturally came here more often and soon joined up for the forums. :)

I started visiting the website when they had all of the pictures of Planet Snoopy up. I didn't know about the forum until about 5 months later. I was actually looking at ThePointol forum because I couldn't find a really diverse group of posters until I came across Pointbuzz.

I have to say this is probably the most professional looking Cedar Point forum around. I joined in April 2009 and really wanted to express my opinion on the Mystery Construction thread. I just want to say it is really fun seeing everyones opinion and Walt & Jeff do a great job of moderating and maintaining the website.

I joined this site through CoasterBuzz and really haven't been back to CB since. I would really never post on that site unless it was about CP. So it just made since for me to come to a site dedicated to CP.

Interesting topic. I think it was around the time of Skyhawk's construction when I actually joined. Remember the teasers on CP's website? I believe Tony and Tyler pretended to find "blueprints" in a garbage can, and no one really knew what was happening. I used to go to "ThePointOnline" very frequently, and stumbled on this site in a random search for Cedar Point. I find the conversations here interesting...it's like online people-watching.

While searching for Millennium Force one day back in 1999, I came across Guide to the Point, been here ever since. At first I didn't post but just lurked under a different screen name but used the site greatly for my CP info as well as Virtual Midway. I was a big fan of Walt's site and was excited when him and Jeff decided to merge.

I've been here all of a few weeks, and for the life of me can't remember how I stumbled on this site. Love it though, check in just about daily, and love to see everyone elses opinions on the current events at Cedar Point. Not to mention the discussion seems to stay pretty decent, as compared to other places where it seems to always be a "hack on Cedar Point" thing. I must be biased :)

I remember coming upon Virtual Midway and GTTP when I was in 4th grade doing a project on Cedar Point.
Several years later, I found out about Pointbuzz again, and once I turned 13, I made an account.
I was attacked on my first post (it was kind of dumb but I have a good excuse at least), and so I had joined Pointbuzz. ;)

Summer was made for a Cedar Point day~

I started reading people's posts but never posted myself. Then I realized it was free to join so I figured what the heck. I used to visit the official CP website ALL the time. Pointbuzz has changed that. It's gotta be my most visited site :)

Was looking for advice and ran into this in my post fanboy days. 6 years later and I'm a coaster nut. :)

I stumbled across GTTP in 2001 while searching for info about Wicked Twister shortly before the ride had been "officially" announced. I think I lurked for a month or two before signing up to post.

I don't post that much, i'll throw in my 2 cents every now and then, i lurk mainly, but i've been here since the website was ... rec.rollercoaster.eu ....or something like that. There is always a good laugh to be had in any topic on here, and some great information as well. Great website and people!

Hello everyone, this is my first post!

I've been reading pointbuzz on and off since about 2003 and finally figured I'd register the other day. My dad and I made the drive out to Cedar Point in 2001 and I absolutely loved it! Needless to say it made my home park, Valleyfair, seem ridiculously boring. I stumbled upon pointbuzz back during TTD's construction and I remember being so excited and begging my dad to go back. Sadly, I haven't been back since but my best friend and I are planning on making the long drive from Minnesota in late August to spend a couple great days at the park. I look forward to being a part of this already great community here!

MNCP, welcome to Pointbuzz. Hope you enjoy your visit in August.

I discovered Virtual Midway not long before the merging of the sites. For a number of years, I sporadically lurked the forums. When demolition began on WWL for the construction of Maverick, that was the impetus for me to get involved, both here and, not long after, over at Coasterbuzz.

My author website: mgrantroberts.com.

I seem to remember seeing an artist's rendering of Breakers Tower when it was announced on one of Walt's sites (I can't remember which one) circa 1997. It was clear early on that his Cedar Point sites were among the best for information and updates about the park.

I think I was searching for info for a school project a long time ago and it brought me here. I joined right away. I think it was 2003.

Edit: Never mind it was 2006. :)

You know, it's weird because I can remember that day like it was yesterday. I bought a disposable camera (no one had digital) and endured Mean Streak several times with Dan that day trying to get a good look at the track in what used to be the bone yard (now Lighthouse Point). I was particularly annoyed because Mean Streak had an unusually long line that day.
