Why are they even asking for 6,000 are the wheels even worth more than 2-300 dollars? That price seems very very steep. Hey did anyone see Mr. Gates around? :)

What kind of moron thinks they can actually get that much for it? Looking at the e-mail address, I think I know who this is.

I was waiting for my name to be brought into this thread. I know the person who is selling the wheel and I told him he is nuts for asking that much!

Maybe CP could start selling the used wheels as souvenirs – as long as they charge a little less then 6 grand! They could sell wheels from all of the coasters so you could buy a complete set. That would be neat.
Except that the wheels themselves seldom wear out. Typically, the wheels are removed from the train and overhauled, which involves replacing the polyurethane tire and repacking the wheel bearings. The rehabbed wheels is as good as new, and goes back into service. I think Cedar Point has their wheels serviced "locally"; I think Dan Haverlock has seen the place...

Yes, I stumbled upon it last summer, only three blocks my from my place. The building the company was in was bought out and they were forced to move, I never did any research to find out where they moved to. I beleive that their name was Industrial Rubber, I'm not sure.
