www.cedarpoint.com not working?

Hmmm  Could an important update be getting put in place?
-----------------
I wonder how many GTTPers are repeatedly hitting "REFRESH" on their browsers in the hopes of being the first to see an update and make the announcement here. I wouldn't be surprised if many don't already have the message typed out in a separate window, so that all they have to do is fill out the name of the ride and hit the submit button.

Nah, i doubt anyone here is THAT obsessed.

If the announcement of Millennium Force was any indication, I think Jeff already knew the details and he just had to wait until the time of the real announcement to unveil it on GTTP.  He had it up here very quickly is what I'm saying.

I was in the middle of surfing around the CP site and it just stopped working. Could it be time?
Same thing here with me. I was looking through the historical section when it stopped working. And yes, I've been numerously clicking refresh to find out what is going on! ahhhhh!!

Sheesh... you guys get worked up over the littlest things!
Its up now.  There's a banner at the top of the MF pic that says keep your eye on this space to see what is new for '02.  We should here shortly, so keep your pants on... or not :)

ROFL, I wish I could show this thread to the IT people behind their website.

"Ooooh if we restart the server a bunch of times we'll get some kiddies riled up on Guide to the Point!"

hahahaha

btw Kahn, that banner's been there all week, sorry to disappoint.

Guys, settle down, when the announcement comes, it comes!

Thanks, ROS.  Haven't actually been to the site in awhile.  I'm in no hurry, I love CP but may not get back there in awhile since I live in New England now.  At least we know what we are getting.
Works fine for me.

I remember when I installed a service pack on my server last year, bringing down the box for about five minutes, someone posted something on RRC about it.

Very sad indeed.

What is sad?  The fact we notice that a site is down?  Or the fact we hang out on another site and make comments about it?

Just wondering.

It's sad that people get that alarmed when they can't get to a site. Sometimes the site is fine, but there's some other Internet phenomenon causing a problem. If you go like and hour or two and can't get to a site, that's reason to wonder. A brief five minute outage is not.

That wouldn't be called "obsession" now, would it? Nah.....me? Obsessed? Just because I check cedarpoint.com several times a day? Keep at least one of the coaster forums up all day?
Feel my heart thump in my chest when a site is down?? Nah..... ;)

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Ya know I find it a little confusing that a person who spends $1200+ a month supporting at least 2 web sites that are only about roller coasters or amusement parks slamming people for an obsession they have.  Especially when they are doing it on the sites they run.

As a Network Administrator/Webmaster I realize the many reasons why a website may be down.  But you cannot deny that one reason a site might be down for a very short time is when a major update is being made to a website.
Jeff, please do not criticize our obsessions.  We all appreciate yours.

CPprincess says that I am so obsessed with Cedar Point that it is crazy.  So pleeez fill me in on these group trips and coaster enthusiast get togethers.  I'd love to go.  e-mail me at CUDJUD@AOL.COM. thanx a million.~The CPprincess of the world.

I'm not criticizing anyone, but in the grand scope of humanity, it just isn't right that someone should be troubled by the fact they can't get to a Web site for five minutes, especially one that isn't exactly a cure for cancer. What does that have to do with my expenses?

it has to do with the degree of obsessivness we have.  You spend alot of money for all this.  We spend alot of time.

And please dont take this the wrong way but your $1200 a month might be the money that could have prevented my, my mom and my dads cancer.
