WT very tempermental

Last night, the ride crew had to recheck the harnesses at least once if not twice on each run. On one run, the train launched but never came back through because the computer sensed a harness error. The ride was not shut down but was consistantly tempermental. The launches were either to the top, or half-powered... Just a very noticeable thing...

Wrong. The computer can't sense anything with the harnesses when the train is in motion.

It is highly unlikely that the control systems can sense the status of the restraint systems while the train is not making physical electrical contact outside station. Most mid-ride setups I have witnessed have been due to breaking the light curtains. On one occasion, apparently somebody had a FRS radio in their pocket that flew out, went smash, and stopped the ride. Probably a good reason behind the incessant "Please remove hats and glasses" before each dispatch.

The first two rows had OSTR release problems during the afternoon. We were waiting for the second row when they had to pull out an electronic device to unlock the restraints. Then they asked those of us waiting in the first two rows to clear them, and kept running with those two rows taped off. I thought they shut WT down for a brief period afterwards as I didn't see it running.

Just a little curious, was the device like a plug hooked up to a pack? I know MF uses a battery and plug hooked up to a spot on the rear corner of the train for it's manual release.

One thing I wonder is how come there isn't any simple manual release on Twister like on S:UE. I've seen a couple times on S:UE if someone is to large or whatever they have a button located by the restraint release which pops them up for that individaul car. Granted it's pretty high up and it's a reach but it's far more effective to just have to check one car instead of the whole train again.

Yes, the button is there on top of the chassis for the release, but it still requires power.

It also looked like a real pain in the wahoo to release this way. The op had a hard time getting the thing plugged in until another op brought the step out.
