WT Seats

Any idea what the seats are gonna be like on the train.  I'm hoping that they op with a row or two of 'larger' seats for the bigger guests.  That was one thing I really liked about Islands of Adventure, each ride had a row or two with bigger seats and an extra buckle.  So any word on that?  I hope they are not as small as raptor, cuz I can't fit in the bird anymore, also now that the ops can't help Mantis is out too.  Please CP  get some big seats!!!!

The press release didn't say anything about any larger seats.  I think it would be good for them to get some larger seats though becuase my dad is a larger guy, and he can't ride Mantis, Raptor, or MF no since they changed the seats and the belts this year on the Force.

One of the frequent complaints I've heard came from the Impulse at SFGAdv where they were apparently limiting height. Not only that, but apparently the belts were shorter too, restricting larger people.

Well, I doubt they will allow any pushing on the restraint by ride operators so it will only make matters worse. Add that with the fact impulses have the smallest amount of room I have ever encountered with a coaster and I can see a fair amount of people being turned away from the ride. If someone can't fit in Raptor then there is a slim to none chance they will fit in Wicked Twister.

The only good thing is I presume the belts will be attached on the side, like on S:UE. Unlike Raptor where it is difficult for larger people to get their hand's through the restraint on to the belt.

I hope they do is have a test seat, and have all the belts the same length. If they don't and people are turned away while on the ride and capacity will be lowered. More importantly the people turned away after waiting in a long line will be upset, and that could mean disgruntled and lost customers.

I hear they do have the belt extensions on Volcano, but I don't know if they can be used on previous impulses because of the hold since all the body weight is placed on the restraints. I wonder if they are considering them for WT, although I doubt it myself since they have done nothing like this and the past and seem more concerned about liability. :(

Jeff, I'm curious, does V2 (I assume you meant SFGAm) have a height limit?

That's my understanding, though I don't know if it's true. It would make sense, seeing as how the floor doesn't drop. I certainly wouldn't be interested in hitting the floor at 70+ mph.

The seats have several different drilled holes for the seat buckle to be attached, thus creating different buckle positions. These are permanent positions though, they can't be changed by the rider. I noticed on S:UE that neither seat buckle was to either extreme; they were both in the middle. Maybe putting a buckle on the farthest end will allow larger riders to buckle in safely.

All i have to say is that on the way facing straight down the belt in between the seat and restraint is gonna be one heck of a Pain for guys when gravity stops it for a sec:) Is this truee for the other one's?

Actually Cp_Rider, the belt on other Impulses is located on the outer side of the seat, not inbetween the riders' legs. When the trains are stopped on the rear spike it causes the riders to sort of "fall" into the restraint itself. That is, unless you place your feet on the car in front of you and "stand up" at that point.

It should be noted, though, that WT will not be stopped on the rear spike.

people how have ridden an impulse...how much smaller are the restraints than raptors?
-----------------
I'd say considerably smaller..

I found them to be a bit more restraining that B&M's... but not as bad as Vekoma SLC's..

I don't think ANYTHING is that uncomfortable aside from... nevermind...

I'd say the same basically, even maybe a little larger.

Edit: Looks like me and Rob dissagree. Oh Well. I think they are larger.

Raptor's seats are slightly smaller than an impulses seats for heavier people, but not by much. I think Raptor's seats offer a lot less shoulder room for taller people, then an impulse's seats. This is based on my own experiences as a 6'6" guy with a 48 inch waist.

Maybe that's my problem Joey... 6'4" doesn't help.. But I still find them to be a tad restrictive...
